Ok, most of us know that Stephen Stills tried out to be a Monkee. He failed and recommended Peter. Supposedly Paul Williams and Charles Manson  tried out as well. Question-what already established group was considered for the role? |

I was gonna say the Beatles, but that sounds too far-fetched, so I'm just throwing a guess out here. Paul Revere and the Raiders Excellent guess, since they were a very humor filled act. But no. They were doing the Happening show around the same time. |
