If some groups didn't change their original names, you may hear a DJ on the classic rock or oldies station say the following:
"Ok, coming up in this set, we're gonna play- Hourglass, Red Roosters, Beefeaters, Golliwogs, Soft White Underbelly, Carl & the Passions, Earth, Pleasure Faire, The Big Thing, Warlocks, High Numbers and Mammoth!"
Which groups would you be hearing?

Which groups would you be hearing? I can answer a couple, I think. Carl and the Passions I believe became the Beach Boys, and the Golliwogs were an earlier version of CCR.
