Scroll down to reply #14 for the newest clue.
Current score:
DJ Dave 6 Pete70s 5 Rali 4 Sat 4 Railyn 1 55dodger 1 Everybody Else 0
Good to see six people on the board already.
And here we go with Game 5
This one, I don't think is easy, but we'll see. The main thing is that this time, each song represents a COMPONENT of the theme. (The order of the three is not important in this one) If you get the three components, you should be able to get the theme.
...and the Artists
Bob Seger The Rolling Stones Del Shannon
Name That Theme!

The only theme that comes to mind right now is Running?
Runaway - Del Shannon Before They Make Me Run - Rolling Stones Fire Lake - Bob Seger - isn't there a line that goes something like "Running off to Fire Lake?"
I'm probably waaay off here LOL.

I don't think it QUITE follows your "components" theme, but the best I can come up with is:
Bob Seger-Shame on the moon Rolling Stones-Get off of my cloud Del Shannon-Keep searchin' (Well follow the sun)
Objects in the sky that may influence weather.

Well Ken. The good news is that you've joined the game. The bad news is, as you say... you're waaay off. ;D But, please, keep trying.

Wow! That is a great try, Dave. But it's not right. Like I said, this is a tough one. Maybe VERY tough. I'd say it's probably a step more obscure than your guess. Keep on trying. If there's no correct answer by noon tomorrow, you get a clue, but the point value goes down to 4.

OK, I'm gonna go WAY out on a limb here...
Del Shannon-Hats Off To Larry Rolling Stones-Angie ("No money in our coats") Bob Seger-Night Moves ("Tight pants points hardly reknown")
Theme-Parts of a suit?

(Although I generally don't consider a hat to be a part of a suit. ;D ) Keep on trying. This is a real tough one.

OK. I just tried the game out on my son. He couldn't get it, and when I told him the answer, he thought it was ridiculously hard.
So I'll through in some free clues every now and then. Here's one: So far you guys (namely Ken, Dave and Pete) have picked:
Del Shannon: Hats Off To Larry, Runaway and Keep Searchin'
Rolling Stones, Angie, Get Off Of My Cloud and Before They Make Me Run (which isn't top 40 anyway, Ken - I don't think)
Bob Seger - Fire Lake, Shame on the Moon and Night Moves
NONE of these songs are correct.

Bob seger - We've Got Tonight Rolling Stones - Let's Spend the Night Together Del Shannon - Little Flirt Theme - Short term flings (for the lack of a better word) No, Woody. Not right - but you also are showing that this group of artists have a whole bunch of themes. (A lot of the answers, including this one, are better than the 'right' answer.) Oh - and there is STILL not a single correct song among those guessed.

OK. It's been 24 hours and time for a new clue. (I told you that this one would be difficult. Remember the three artists are Bob Seger The Rolling Stones Del Shannon In no particular order: The song by one of the three is arguably a signature song. Played all the time. The song by a second act, although it was a big hit, is likely to be more associated with a TV commercial. The song by the third artist or artists did, (as it had to to be a clue here) make the Billboard Top 40, but was tremendously overshadowed by two other versions of the song. Both of the other versions hit the top 5. We are now down to four points. However, if the points are split between people, I'll give the full five. (Like if one person gets the theme and two of the songs, that's four points there, and I'd have to give another point to the person who got the other song.) No more point lowering till Friday. Tomorrow is a free day. No points lost, but maybe a clue or two (if needed) between (or during) bites of turkey. Now...get with it guys and Name That Theme!
