OK. It's been 24 hours and time for a new clue. (I told you that this one would be difficult. Remember the three artists are Bob Seger The Rolling Stones Del Shannon In no particular order: The song by one of the three is arguably a signature song. Played all the time. The song by a second act, although it was a big hit, is likely to be more associated with a TV commercial. The song by the third artist or artists did, (as it had to to be a clue here) make the Billboard Top 40, but was tremendously overshadowed by two other versions of the song. Both of the other versions hit the top 5. We are now down to four points. However, if the points are split between people, I'll give the full five. (Like if one person gets the theme and two of the songs, that's four points there, and I'd have to give another point to the person who got the other song.) No more point lowering till Friday. Tomorrow is a free day. No points lost, but maybe a clue or two (if needed) between (or during) bites of turkey. Now...get with it guys and Name That Theme! Ok, so what we are looking at here, going backwards, is- Handy Man Like a Rock and- Satisfaction? No clue on the theme though! LOL!

OK. I just tried the game out on my son. He couldn't get it, and when I told him the answer, he thought it was ridiculously hard. So I'll through in some free clues every now and then. Here's one: So far you guys (namely Ken, Dave and Pete) have picked: Del Shannon: Hats Off To Larry, Runaway and Keep Searchin' Rolling Stones, Angie, Get Off Of My Cloud and Before They Make Me Run (which isn't top 40 anyway, Ken - I don't think) Bob Seger - Fire Lake, Shame on the Moon and Night Moves NONE of these songs are correct. Oops! I forgot about the top 40 rule , yeah I don't remember Before They Make Me Run making the Top 40.

Ok, so what we are looking at here, going backwards, is- Handy Man Like a Rock and- Satisfaction? Interesting. You got only one song correct. But you successfully matched all three ARTISTS with the clues. That is: Del Shannon did the song that was overshadowed by two other versions. Bob Seger did the song better known as a TV commercial. and The Stones did the song that could be considered a signature song. But -- in two cases, you picked the wrong song. Keep on keepin' on everybody.

(You may want to take a stab at a Theme, everybody; the Stones have a whole bunch of signature songs, and it turns out that the Theme clue is NOT in the title for this song.

Ok, so Like a Rock and Sea of Love.....there must be some connection with Rock & Sea. Do I get any points so far?

I'm going to take that stab, not only at the theme but the Stones song as well. Adam got Like a Rock & Sea of Love. The Rolling Stones song is As Tears Go By. Theme: Reminiscing. There is a line in Like a Rock "I recall, I recall A line in Sea of Love Do you remember when we met A line in As Tears go By Doing things I used to do, thinking they are new. If this ain't right, I give up. I was up until after midnight last night trying to figure it out. Made for a long day at work.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, Woody, but that is not correct. Remember, I said that each song was a different component of the theme. With your theory, remeniscing would be the entire theme and be present in each song. Besides, I wouldn't think of As Tears Go By as a signature song (or am I wrong.) Anyway, sorry about your night last night. Get some sleep, Buddy. ;D

OK, now I'm really starting to go nuts... This may be the most obscure theory yet... We already know Like A Rock and Sea Of Love "Jumpin' Jack Flash" has a lyric about drowning: "I was drowned, I was washed up and left for dead". So, taking yet another WILD stab at solving this thing.. The theme: "Being lost at sea, and holding onto a rock to keep from drowning!!" I'll wait till the laughter dies down so someone may still come up with the RIGHT answer.....

Maybe THIS is it...
Three forms of matter:
Bob Seger (Like a rock) A rock is a SOLID. Del Shannon (Sea of love) Sea is LIQUID. Rolling Stones (Jumpin' jack flash) "I'm jumping jack flash, it's a gas, gas, GAS"!!!
