Scotch and Soda - Kingston Trio
For the next one, you have to remember the classic "Cheers" episode, where Cliff appears on Jeopardy and builds up an insurmountable lead - insurmountable unless he foolishly bets it all on Final Jeopardy - which of course he does. The category is Movie Stars, and the answer is a list of three names. Not being able to come up with the correct question, Cliff writes: "who are three people who have never been in my kitchen?"
So -- today:
Name a song that includes in the title, something that IS in my kitchen.

Ed, I have never been to your house, so therefore, I do not know what is in your kitchen. But here's something that you usually find in a kitchen: "The Chair"-George Strait (Marty Robbins has a different song with the same title, but Marty's song is about an ELECTRIC chair--I'm assuming there isn't one of THOSE in your kitchen ) Name a song whose title has someone's first and middle name in it.

Actually, Laura, since we live in a house that is a converted abandoned prison, we DO have an electric chair in the house. But you are right, it's NOT in the kitchen. It's in the bathroom. John Wesley Harding- Bob Dylan Name a song that includes the first name of your next-door neighbor in the title.

"Lamu"-Michael W. Smith
(According to the song, Lamu is "an island in the sea off the coast of Africa". I don't think it really exists, at least not that I'm aware.)
Name a song about the loss of a parent.

OK, thanks, Ed. I thought I'd read somewhere that Lamu was a made-up place--guess I remembered wrong. Well, actually, Michael W. Smith has a song on the same album called "Rocketown"--but since he later opened a club with that name, that no longer is an "fictional" place... Then again, Rocketown the club is a Christian dance club (I can't remember offhand where it is--I just remember reading about it), and the "Rocketown" in the song is a town (an entire town, not just one club) where a lot of wild parties happen "along the sordid street", and "the girls had made their run out on the boulevard". Something like that--I don't have the lyric sheet with me right now. (I always thought it was odd that he named the club after that particular song, since it sounds to me like the club is just the opposite of the place he's describing in the song.) So it's NOT the same place--and neither is the record company he started with the same name. So, since the SONG came out first, I will go with "Rocketown" by Michael W. Smith as my answer, since it WAS a fictional place at the time the song was written, ok? (Rocketown certainly doesn't sound like the name of a real place anyway, does it? ) My previous question stands: Name a song about the loss of a parent.

Two songs immediately came to mind. I'll go with "The Living Years" by Mike and the Mechanics.
Since the World Series is going on now, name a song about baseball.
