Alright, here's my guess Billy Ocean - Love Really Hurts Without You Sarah Vaughan - Broken Hearted Melody The Beatles - I'll Cry Instead Theme - Emotions / Sadness Ken, I''ll say that you are definitely on the right track, but you are not quite there. You have one song correct, and since you are on the right track, you will get a point. Keep on trying!

Billy Ocean - There'll Be Sad Songs (To Make You Cry) Sarah Vaughan - Experience Unnecessary (Kiss my tears when I cry) The Beatles - I'll Cry Instead Theme: To Cry Nope. Sorry, Woody. it's a good cry - uh - try, though. (That's a joke, not a clue) You're moving farther away from where Ken was.

Billy Ocean-Love Really Hurts Without You Sarah Vaughn-Make Yourself ComfortableBeatles-I Feel Fine Theme: Comfort/Discomfort? No, Pete. No birthday present on that one. Like Woody, you are not as close to the theme as Ken. Try again. Next clue comes up after 12 PM EST.

Sorry guys, I mistakenly said in replying to Woody and Pete that their responses were not as close as Juggies was. It was, of course, Ken who had the close response and already has garnered a point; Juggie has not yet answered on this round. I made that mistake either because a) They are both Canadians and therefore look and sound alike. OR b) I am an old fart who can't even remember what I had for breakfast this morning let alone who answered the thread. ;D Anyway, I have edited the responses accordingly.

Okay...let's try this out for size...
Billy Ocean - Love Is Forever (A broken heart could mend if given time I know why love is forever) Sarah Vaughan - Broken Hearted Melody Beatles - I Saw Her Standing There (my heart went BOOM)
THEME: Broken Hearts
(A stretch, but I followed all the rules!)

That's a pretty good try, Juggie. I like the Heart Went BOOM thing. Very clever. But (you know what I'm going to say, don't you?) not the right answer. So far, Ken is still the closest. I'm gonna go eat lunch now, and then I'll be back with more clues (unless, of course, someone gets it right in the meantime.)

OK. Interesting game so far. Ireally thought that after Ken's inital answer someone was going to get it right very quickly. (Which should all tell you how close Ken's answer really was.)
Anyway, we're down to 4 points, and here are a couple of clues:
So far, two songs that have been mentioned are the correct songs. (I already gave Ken a point for his getting a song correct because he used it in the right context.)
As I said, two songs have been mentioned that are the correct songs, but one of them was mentioned by two different people.
Two of the songs have the theme in the title (words aren't the same but the meaning iis). The third song has the words in the lyrics - the same words as in one of the titles.
Name That Theme!

Okay, let's try this one out. Billy Ocean - THERE'LL BE SAD SONGS (TO MAKE YOU CRY) Sarah Vaughan - BROKEN HEARTED MELODY Beatles - HEY JUDE (Take a sad song and make it better) THEME: Sad Songs Juggie, my man .... . . . . . . . . . CONGRATULATIONS !!You got it!! That is exactly right!! Well done! So, since this was the second day of the game, you'll get 4 points Ken will get a point for correctly coming up with Broken Hearted Melody, although he had guessed just sadness rather than spesifically sad songs as the theme. But he was close enough on the theme that he'll get the credit for the Sarah Vaughan song, ..and the score: 55dodger 17 Dawn 5 Jughead 4 Ken 1 Laura 0 Pete 70s 0 Gremashlo 0 Everybody else DNP Googlebot from Mountain View California DNP but keeps watching! (No kidding, for the past week or so it appears that we have our own personal Googlebot. ) Great job, guys - a well fought game. Next game tomorrow!
