Just heard on Channel 5 (Washington DC) News (Fox), that the singer formerly known as Cat Stevens was being held at Dulles International Airport for deportation to London. Stevens converted to Islam several years ago and took the name Yusuf Islam. He apparently is listed on a US "no fly" list, that lists people who are suspected of having connections to terrorist groups.
Islam -or - Stevens claims to be a pacifist, but he previously publically called for the assassination of author Salmon Rushdie for espousing beliefs that ran counter to Islam.
