I didn't know whether to put this here or in the TV section. Here's an article from CNN about an upcoming VH-1 special about the 50 "Most Annoying" songs. This list is going to be quite entertaining, I'm sure. Although I don't necessarily agree with the top choice, I'm glad to see some songs on here. For example, ACHY BREAKY HEART.
I will for sure be watching VH1's special on this.

Most were good choices (Bobby McFerrin) but um, HELLO?  ? 500 Miles!!! One of the WORST songs of all time!! Throw in I'm Too Sexy while you're at it!! |

I would put Don't Worry, Be Happy at the top of this list. It is the most annoying song I've ever heard. Can't agree with We Built This City & Sounds of Silence, among others.

I've watched the special, several of the songs were 90's/2000's songs I've never even heard of, so I was hardly offended by most of the choices. However, I never thought "We Built This City" was a bad song... But it just seems like another attempt for Gen X'rs to "deny their past" (that whole "what were we thinking?!?!" mentality).
These songs may be bad, but they obviously sold a LOT of records, so SOMEBODY had to like them!!

We Built This City "Sounds of Silence" is NOT on the list, BTW. If I could, I'd just like to say how fed up I am with these VH-1 specials "Top whatever number it is of whatever subject it is." That's all they show anymore. The parts I really can't stand are when they show all my least favorite "celebrities" to comment on them. Enough already. |
