Singer John Whitehead Has Died.

I just found out about this - he passed away around May 12 . He was part of the duo McFadden and Whitehead who you'll remember recorded the #13 hit Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now back in 1979 .

I'm listening to the May 14 program of Crap From The Past and Ron is doing a tribute to him. According to Ron, John who was living in Philadelphia was working on a car with a friend - both were shot - I guess John died at the scene but his buddy was rushed to the hospital.

That is really sad. I didn't recognize his name until I read your post--I remember that song; it's a great one!
