I'm a frequent visitor to the imdb.com website, and will try to set things straight on a regular basis if a (at least somewhat) familiar face in music has passed on. Never even heard about Skeeter Davis' death until I posted all the 2004 obit's at the end of the year.
This singer, from Denton Texas, passed on a week ago, Tuesday, January 25th. He had three well-known hits:
The original "The Wonder of You" that Elvis made an even bigger "live" hit with.
The tragic death tune of "Tell Laura I love her"
And (IMO) one of the early 60's best, an early Phil Spector production, "Corinna Corinna", which was actually a remake of a Joe Turner R & B number.
RIP, Ray--you'll be missed.

His version of The Wonder of You is in my Top 250, and he also sang a beautiful song called I Could Have Loved You So Well. R.I.P., Ray.

RIP Ray. "Tell Laura I Love Her" has always been a favorite.

Sad news for sure. I can't believe how many artists we lost in 2004 and how many already in 2005.
RIP Ray.
