Yeah. I had just read about that. We lose a legend of a different sort. RIP, Johnnie.

They're having a tribute concert for him on Friday here in St. Louis. A friend of mine, Bill Kelley, who is a local musician, is going to be part of it. I don't know if I'll get to go--I've had so much on my mind w/work and the kid and all; I don't know if they still even have tickets available. It would be fun though--there's supposed to be a lot of big stars showing up.

Well, I didn't get tickets to the Johnnie Johnson memorial concert--it was sold out. But Bill said it was great. Actually, Chuck Berry was the only really big nationally-known star who showed up; the rest were all local people. Bill had originally told me Eric Clapton was going to be there, but he didn't show. He also said Pete Townshend was in town for the wake, but he didn't show up for the concert. Still wish I could've been there, especially since someone I know was involved.
