2007 Class Announced!!

Glad to see Van Halen & the Ronettes in. They deserve it. REM was a given. Won't comment on Patti & Grandmaster since I know little to nothing of their music.
There's a website that's been running an informal poll since the nominations were announced. Dave Clark 5 poll numbers were almost identical to Van Halen's (who was the leading vote getter). Grandmaster Funk didn't get even 10% of the votes. I'll admit this was a classical rock website so the number's were probably skewed against them. REM, Patti Smith & the Ronettes were the other three top vote getters.
But now we have to go through another year wondering what Chicago, Moody Blues, ELO, and others did that was so bad that can't even get nominated. Oh well, as they used to say in Brooklyn, "wait till next year."

Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five - Meh. I don't care if they were the first "rappers." Name one song they did.

R.E.M. - OK, why not? They had some great songs. I like them a lot.

The Ronettes - Can't believe they weren't in already

Patti Smith - Finally. Now her fans can quit crying, she's in.

Van Halen - Cool! They TOTALLY deserve it. I'm sure you've heard the rumors of a reunion tour... last I heard, Michael Anthony bowed out for some reason.

Snubs: Genesis AGAIN! Chicago AGAIN! Pat Benatar - Come on, put her in! Dave Clark Five - For God's sake, where are they? What about John Mellencamp? Sure his new song on that Chevy commercial is annoying, but he deserves to be inducted.

Me? Oh yeah! I like the song actually. It's ranked pretty high on the INSANE list and I have it on Richard Blade's Flashback Favorites. It leans more towards funk than hardcore rap.
