Truly a tragic day. But let's look at the other side of it. How much did the deaths of the three young stars (and especially Buddy Holly) add to the evolution of rock and roll as we know it today? I think pretty significantly. Buddy's style became the influence for many artists such as Bobby Vee, Tommy Roe, Gene Pitney and Del Shannon, and also influenced groups such as The Beatles, The Stones, and of course, The Hollies. Had Buddy, Ritchie and The Big Bopper not died, how different would music be today? We can only speculate. R.I.P.
