Very sad news. I remember hearing that he had been diagnosed with Cancer.I always loved Summer Wine and especially Some Velvet Morning - with it's spooky and very "trippy" atmosphere - both great tunes. I have a DVD of the 1967 TV special "Movin' With Nancy" that includes several video clips including one of "Velvet" - it is a very cool video. I had no idea that he had written and produced The Fool by Sanford Clark - I love that track very much. RIP Lee  |

We've lost another great songwriter/singer. I really loved his duets with Nancy, especially Summer Wine, which is in my all time top 250. I hadn't realized that he wrote The Fool, which is a great '50s oldie. In fact, I almost wonder now whether Lee WAS Sanford Clark. The voices are very similar. RIP, Lee.  |
