I've always liked Badfinger, and have come to like them a LOT more over the past couple ofy ears where I've delved deeper into their music. Truly a tragic group, who never got the degree of recogniition they hoped for. But - a couple of comments, Ken. First when I read your subject line about being the next Beatles, I thought you were going to write about The Knack. LOL! ;D Second, when I read the article, I couldn't help but notice the sentence: " Problems started when the band's final Apple album, Ass, failed to crack the upper reaches of the charts" Ass failed to crack ?? ;D Finally, it's obvious to me that Badfinger placed their song Shine On, on the wrong album. it should have been on Wish You Were Here.

Glad to hear these are finally being re-released. It took me ages to track down copies.
Like Ed, I've really grown to like this group more and more in the past several years, and have been collecting their music, including some of Pete and Tom's solo work.

I liked them okay....but any comparison to the Beatles makes me wonder. Well, probably the closest comparison of Badfinger to the Beatles was in Badfingers' collective mind. No one really approaches the Beatles' level. But they were Beatles proteges, and the very fact that the Beatles were interested in them HAD to get them thinking.

Yes....very true. And it would be such a trip to have them interested in your band.
