She was the voice of pop music in the early and mid 50s. RIP, Tess.

Very sad RIP Teresa I read on allmusic.com that in the 1970's she re - emerged as a jazz vocalist. Wow! - I had no idea, you learn something new everyday.

I thought she'd died years ago... I remember an album my grandmother had on the Philips label of her hits. "Put another nickel in, to the nickelodeon" is the main song I remember.

I'm sorry to hear of her passing. Like Ken, I hadn't known she had been a jazz singer as well. Music, Music, Music is a classic.

Yeah I knew about her doing jazz. In the '80s, during the medley craze, she had a medley called "I Dig Big Band Singers". I haven't heard a whole lot of her songs, but I like the ones I have heard.

We sang that song in middle school chorus! What a blast from the past, I loved that song! Didn't know who it was sung by but, and correct me if I am wrong, wasn't it written by Cole Porter?

According to allmusic.com it was written by Bernie Baum and Steve Weiss, Nomi. I remember back when I was in college, when our jukebox (which is what used to be called a nickelodeon) went up to a dime. Man, were we pissed!
