....but do any of you remember "Sha Na Na"?(group that came along around '69 & sang oldies songs. They had a TV show from 1976-1981)Well, anyway..I'm into them in a BIG way! I think they're the ones that started me liking oldies music even more. Since 1981 several members of the group have gone their separate ways, one of them being Bowzer (my favorite ;D) He has a group now called "Bowzer's Rock~n~ Roll Party". If/when he comes to Florida to do concerts, I'm THERE! As their signature saying goes," Grease For Peace!!"

*waves hand wildly* I DO! I DO! Remember when John "Bowser" Bauman hosted "The Match Game/Hollywood Squares Hour" on TV? Like my husband would say, Easy, stomach, don't turn over now!

I watched "MG/HS Hour" a lot when Jon Bauman hosted it. He did a good job coming out of his "greaser" mode. LMAO about your husband!!!

I remember both TV shows! Peeved when "Santa Barbra" took the place of "MG/HS" Hour, and the show is hard to license to GSN today, and many associated with the show wished it was never born. As for Sha Na Na, they were COOOOL! Love their take on "Just like Romeo and Juliet" (almost disco sounding)! Also for a small while (possibly their GREAT Woodstock performance), Henry Gross ("Shannon") was in the band.

I remember watching their show often back then! Their music was always enjoyable - lighthearted and really capturing the spirit of the 50's. Bowzer was my favorite also!

They were funny, I used to watch them on Friday nights in the late 70's. I also remember the PSA spots they did in the early 80's, with Bowser ironing his shirt and the others giving him a hard time about it..
