hmmm, just 5 of each huh? Ok, Ihad to limit myself to male and female solo artists because otherwise it's too hard for me to decide.
These aren't in order...
Men: James Taylor Elton John Andy Gibb Stevie Wonder Barry Manilow
Women: Olivia Newton-John Donna Summer Pat Benatar Ella Fitzgerald Barbra Streisand
There are a ton of singers that I love like Karen Carpenter and Chris Cornell that I'm considering as part of a group even though their voice was the signature of the band.

Female: Bette Midler Judy Garland Stevie Nicks Reba McEntire Patsy Cline Male: Bing Crosby Justin Timberlake Garth Brooks Elton John Lindsey Buckingham (I guess...Couldn't really think of another, so I just stuck him in there. But he is really good.) By the way, I didn't put those in order because it's getting tough for me to choose any more. It's pretty much a tie with Bette and Judy, although Bette's had the edge the past few months. Stevie's about to edge out Reba, and Bing and Justin are pretty close overall, although for all-time status Bing would naturally have to rank higher. I love so many females that it was hard to make my list that short, but I think that expresses my opinion fairly well.
