*Be sure to check out the Hall of Fame posts on the TV and History boards!! THANKS! ;D
5537. Rebels-Tom Petty 1985
A song that has kind of lived in the shadow of Don't Come Around Here No More. Average leave Petty tune.
5536. I'm Gonna Make You Mine-Lou Christie 1969
Somehow Lou managed to be hip in 69 still. Decent tune.
5535. Lady (You Bring Me Up)-Commodores 1981
Ever see the video with the band playing soccer? Too much! Like their 70s stuff better.
5534. Changes in Lattitude, Changes in Attitude-Jimmy Buffett 1977
I remember this well from his concert. All his stuff is average to me.
5533. Can I Play With Madness?-Iron Maiden 1988 (previous ranking 4035)
Maiden's good, but not as good as I had it ranked before.
5532. Hold On-Eric Clapton 1987
I think every artist is required to have a song called Hold On. This is from EC's above average August release.
5531. Monkey Business-Skid Row 1991
I didn't know the songs from this album when they were out. My wife did though and told me to pick up the tape at Best Buy for .99! LOL!
5530. Crazy-Aerosmith 1994
I'm not "crazy" about 90s Aerosmith on the whole, although I do have Big Ones.
5529. Child in Time-Deep Purple 1970 (new addition)
One that is a legendary piece among Purple fans, but doesn't get radio play.
5528. Friend of the Devil-Grateful Dead 1970
Not a big Dead fan, but I'd rather hear this than Casey Jones and Truckin' all the time.
5527. Heart & Soul-Huey Lewis & the News 1983
Most of his stuff I just got burned out on during the MTV era.
5526. Lean on Me-Bill Withers 1972
I know it's a legendary piece, and better than the "we be jammin'" version, but not my fave from him.
5525. Every Breath You Take-Police 1983
Never was big on this, and now it is WAY overplayed.
5524. Thank You For the Music-ABBA 1978* (previous ranking 3968)
Does anybody know the proper year? I couldn't find it anywhere. Anyway, a nice enough song I learned off the Gold compilation.
5523. You Can’t Hurry Love-Supremes 1966
One of many of their songs that had a similiar sound.
5522. Sealed With a Kiss-Brian Hyland 1962
From the golden age of "dating/breakup/heartache" songs. Not that big on it.
5521. This is Where I Came in-Bee Gees 2001(new addition)
From their last studio album. Decent, but nothing like the early 70s stuff.
5520. We Built This City-Starship 1985
Loved it in 8th grade, but it's corny now.
5519. Monster Mash-Bobby "Boris" Pickett 62/70/73
Surprised I ranked this this high. A must at Halloween of course.
5518. You Can't Hurry Love-Phil Collins 1982/83
Wow, I honestly never realized how close the two versions were ranked. See, that just sometimes happens! I liked this enough to get the single back then.
Have at it!

5537. Rebels-Tom Petty 1985
Definitely overshadowed by 'Don't Come Around Here', I agree. Not a bad tune.
5536. I'm Gonna Make You Mine-Lou Christie 1969
One of his best songs.
5535. Lady (You Bring Me Up)-Commodores 1981
Loved this back in the day, and it's still a big fave. I don't think I've ever seen the video, though.
5534. Changes in Lattitude, Changes in Attitude-Jimmy Buffett 1977
Nice, but not my favorite from him.
5533. Can I Play With Madness?-Iron Maiden 1988 (previous ranking 4035)
I'm not too familiar with their post-1985 material.
5532. Hold On-Eric Clapton 1987
Okay, not his best.
5531. Monkey Business-Skid Row 1991
Not familiar.
5530. Crazy-Aerosmith 1994
I'm not too fond of their later material.
5529. Child in Time-Deep Purple 1970 (new addition)
I don't think I've heard this one.
5528. Friend of the Devil-Grateful Dead 1970
I've probably heard this, but can't place it.
5527. Heart & Soul-Huey Lewis & the News 1983
Great song - one of my favorites by him. It brings back lots of memories of high school.
5526. Lean on Me-Bill Withers 1972
My least favorite of his singles. It's not bad, but all those "call mes" at the end are annoying.
5525. Every Breath You Take-Police 1983
This was overplayed, I agree. Good tune, but they had several I like more.
5524. Thank You For the Music-ABBA 1978* (previous ranking 3968)
A great period for them.
5523. You Can’t Hurry Love-Supremes 1966
The first Supremes song I can remember hearing - my parents had the 45. One of their best tunes.
5522. Sealed With a Kiss-Brian Hyland 1962
A pleasant song, nice to hear occasionally.
5521. This is Where I Came in-Bee Gees 2001(new addition)
I like this, but I agree that their 70s material was better.
5520. We Built This City-Starship 1985
I've never really warmed up to this song that much. Still, it's probably my favorite from their mid-80s period.
5519. Monster Mash-Bobby "Boris" Pickett 62/70/73
It's fun and catchy, but not really a fave of mine.
5518. You Can't Hurry Love-Phil Collins 1982/83
Good remake - I remember hearing this quite often back then.

5537. Rebels-Tom Petty 1985 Very enjoyable but overlooked. 5536. I'm Gonna Make You Mine-Lou Christie 1969 Haven't heard this in a while. 5535. Lady (You Bring Me Up)-Commodores 1981 The video is one of the funniest things I've ever seen! Those athletic socks pulled up past the knees!! 5534. Changes in Lattitude, Changes in Attitude-Jimmy Buffett 1977 Blech...I really hate this tune. Well, I hate all of his tunes. 5533. Can I Play With Madness?-Iron Maiden 1988 The title always made me laugh. 5532. Hold On-Eric Clapton 1987 One of my mom's faves. 5531. Monkey Business-Skid Row 1991 I really liked this song and this album. They were on their way out at this point. 5530. Crazy-Aerosmith 1994 I don't like much from this era of theirs except "Janie's..." 5529. Child in Time-Deep Purple 1970 (new addition) Don't like the "Purple" much... 5528. Friend of the Devil-Grateful Dead 1970 Overplayed IMO. 5527. Heart & Soul-Huey Lewis & the News 1983 Very sing-alongable. You can't help yourself. 5526. Lean on Me-Bill Withers 1972 A classic but not his best IMO. 5525. Every Breath You Take-Police 1983 It's a well written pretty, haunting song but so damn overplayed that it's not funny. 5524. Thank You For the Music-ABBA 1978 I think the year might be 1980 actually. As cheesy as this is I can't help but love it. I love the key progression of the chorus. 5523. You Can’t Hurry Love-Supremes 1966 Not my fave from them. 5522. Sealed With a Kiss-Brian Hyland 1962 A " hearache"? LOL! Typos can be funny! 5521. This is Where I Came in-Bee Gees 2001 Love this one. One of the few of their newer hits that I enjoy. 5520. We Built This City-Starship 1985 I like other Starship songs better. 5519. Monster Mash-Bobby "Boris" Pickett 62/70/73 Very corny and a little too "novelty" for me. 5518. You Can't Hurry Love-Phil Collins 1982/83 I like his cover better than the Supremes actually.

5532. Hold On-Eric Clapton 1987 There are even better ones from August.
5531. Monkey Business-Skid Row 1991 Heard a few times when current, none since. Good tune IIRC.
5530. Crazy-Aerosmith 1994 My fave of all their Geffen tunes.
5529. Child in Time-Deep Purple 1970 (new addition) Not too bad, but "Black Night" is better.
5528. Friend of the Devil-Grateful Dead 1970 Good tune, man.
5527. Heart & Soul-Huey Lewis & the News 1983 Love it.
5526. Lean on Me-Bill Withers 1972 Classic, expect BOTH versions in my top 800.
5525. Every Breath You Take-Police 1983 Same comments as everyone else--what did I know back when I ranked this in 1988 and 1995--expect a HUGE dive on my 2005 CRAZY list.
5524. Thank You For the Music-ABBA 1978* (previous ranking 3968) Yes, Sat--1978 is correct--The "Abba Album"; same one as "Name of the Game" and "Take a Chance on Me". Love this, as with all the rest of their catalog.
5523. You Can’t Hurry Love-Supremes 1966 Good classic.
5522. Sealed With a Kiss-Brian Hyland 1962 Never been big on this myself.
5521. This is Where I Came in-Bee Gees 2001(new addition) Not bad, but give me their disco-era tunes.
5520. We Built This City-Starship 1985 LOVED this in 1985; still a good listen today.
5519. Monster Mash-Bobby "Boris" Pickett 62/70/73 Could do without it.
5518. You Can't Hurry Love-Phil Collins 1982/83 Not his best, but a faithful retro sound.

5526. Lean on Me-Bill Withers 1972 This song is okay every once in a while.

5537 - Rebels - Quite good 5536 - I'm Gonna Make You Mine - unfamiliar - only know a couple of his tunes. 5535 - Lady (You Bring Me Up) - That video does sound very familiar . Pretty good tune. 5534 - Changes in Latitude . . . - The only one I've ever heard from the album was Margaritaville. 5533 - Can I Play With Madness - I don't know it. 5532 - Hold On - Not bad but EC has had better. 5531 - LOL - Monkey Business - don't know it. 5530 - Crazy - It's ok to hear once in awhile - they sure slipped in to "ballad mode" there for a bit. 5529 - Child In Time - Wow! - first heard this as a kid on Made in Japan - Gillian's voice sure gets a workout . Love the dynamics the band brings to the song. 5528 - Friend of The Devil - I'm far from being a Deadhead . I don't mind a handful of songs. To me this is probably their best album - Have sold a few copies of this at our record shows. 5527 - Heart and Soul - Loved this at the time and still like to give it a spin. 5526 - Lean on Me - The "We Be Jammin" version was so terrible , just dreadful they should have been sued LOL. I still like the original. 5525 - Every Breath You Take - I think it's played more now than it was then . In fact I just heard it yesterday. 5524 - Thank You For The Music - The year looks right to me - A nice little tune. 5523 - You Can't Hurry Love - A Supremes fave. 5522 - Sealed With a Kiss - I don't hear it really all that much so I haven't grew tired of it. 5521 - This is Where I Came in - I like this one very much - I also like the video. 5520 - We Built This City - Still like to hear it once in awhile. Bought the 45 back then. 5519 - Monster Mash - Love it!! 5518 - You Can Hurry Love (Phil's version) - I thought he did a good job and remember recording it off the radio back then.

Hold On--Don't like it much.
Monkey Business--Don't think I Know it.
Crazy--I like this one a lot.
Child In Time--Not familiar with this.

You Can't Hurry Love--Never liked this one, no matter who sings it.
Sealed With a Kiss--Kinda boring.
This is Where I Came In--Don't know it.
We Built This City--I don't mind hearing this every once in awhile.
Monster Mash--This is ok to hear at Halloween.
You Can't Hurry Love--Like I said, I never liked this no matter who sings it.

5537. Rebels-Tom Petty 1985 So-so
5536. I'm Gonna Make You Mine-Lou Christie 1969 It was good to see this "comeback" by Lou back then, but I prefer his earlier stuff.
5535. Lady (You Bring Me Up)-Commodores 1981 Like most of their stuff, but not this one particularly.
5534. Changes in Lattitude, Changes in Attitude-Jimmy Buffett 1977 Don't remember it.
5533. Can I Play With Madness?-Iron Maiden 1988 (previous ranking 4035) Don't know it
5532. Hold On-Eric Clapton 1987 Ditto
5531. Monkey Business-Skid Row 1991 Ditto
5530. Crazy-Aerosmith 1994 This may be my fave Aerosmith of all. Love the '50s style rock ballad. I'm just about done compiling my top 250, and this may have a spot.
5529. Child in Time-Deep Purple 1970 (new addition) I know I've heard this. Had some friends who were Purple fans back then, but I can't remember it. One I'll have to check out.
5528. Friend of the Devil-Grateful Dead 1970 Not a Dead fan either.
5527. Heart & Soul-Huey Lewis & the News 1983 Eh.
5526. Lean on Me-Bill Withers 1972 Totally agree with you here, Sat. MUCH better than Club Nuveau, but Bill did better. (I love Ain't No Sunshine)
5525. Every Breath You Take-Police 1983 Always liked this. Didn't learn until recently that it was about a stalker. Creepy. 5524. Thank You For the Music-ABBA 1978* (previous ranking 3968) Don't know it.
5523. You Can’t Hurry Love-Supremes 1966 I always thought they started to slip after Stop In the Name of Love. Never liked this one much - maybe it's the way Diana sings "You CAINT hurry love"
5522. Sealed With a Kiss-Brian Hyland 1962 Sappy lyrics, but I always liked the melody.
5521. This is Where I Came in-Bee Gees 2001(new addition) Don't know it. One I'll have to check out.
5520. We Built This City-Starship 1985 One of those catchy songs that wind up becoming signature songs for a group -- but really isn't at all what the group is about. They did MUCH better.
5519. Monster Mash-Bobby "Boris" Pickett 62/70/73 Classic novelty song.
5518. You Can't Hurry Love-Phil Collins 1982/83 Like this even less than the Supremes version.
----------------------------------------------------------
Had to add this comment. I was just looking back at my responses and saw the Starship entry and the pink/rose border to this page at the same time, and instantly the album cover for Surrealistic Pillow popped into my mind.

I LOVE this one! My favorite from them, besides Janie's Got a Gun.
5529 - 5528. Again, I'm drawing a blank.
5526. Lean on Me - Bill Withers
I'm actually not sure if I know this version.
5525. Every Breath You Take - Police
Classic song, but I admit: I like "P. Diddy's" reworked version better.
5524. Thank You For the Music - ABBA
Don't know it.
5523. You Can’t Hurry Love - Supremes
Two thumbs up, my friend.
5522 - 5521. Don't know them.

5537. Rebels-Tom Petty 1985 Oh, WOW! I haven't heard this one since '85! It got some AOR play back then.
5536. I'm Gonna Make You Mine-Lou Christie 1969 I've never liked Lou Christie much, except for a couple of tunes. This is one of them!
5535. Lady (You Bring Me Up)-Commodores 1981 Uptempo Commodores are always better than ballad Commodores IMO.
5534. Changes in Lattitude, Changes in Attitude-Jimmy Buffett 1977 Eh... He's OK, but not really my cup of tea....
5533. Can I Play With Madness?-Iron Maiden 1988 (previous ranking 4035) I HATED this album with a passion!
5531. Monkey Business-Skid Row 1991 Great tune! I remember the video, they REALLY wanted to get away from being categorized with Slaughter and Winger.
5530. Crazy-Aerosmith 1994 Boring...
5529. Child in Time-Deep Purple 1970 (new addition) If I'm not mistaken, this is the song with that LOOOOONG drawn-out ending. I'll pass..
5528. Friend of the Devil-Grateful Dead 1970 Not bad.
5527. Heart & Soul-Huey Lewis & the News 1983 Always loved this one.
5526. Lean on Me-Bill Withers 1972 Like this, HATE Club Nouveau!
5525. Every Breath You Take-Police 1983 Little known fact, this was Dennis Wilson's favorite song.
5523. You Can’t Hurry Love-Supremes 1966 so-so
5522. Sealed With a Kiss-Brian Hyland 1962 Don't like it. The only song I really like by him is "Gypsy Woman"
5521. This is Where I Came in-Bee Gees 2001(new addition) Loved it from first listen! This was a return to their classic sound, and the best song they've done since "You Win Again"!
5520. We Built This City-Starship 1985 I don't hate it.. But I don't love it either..
5519. Monster Mash-Bobby "Boris" Pickett 62/70/73 SO sick of this song!
5518. You Can't Hurry Love-Phil Collins 1982/83 Not much better than the original..
