BTW gang, I did an album review on 3/18! Also, I have a Discussion on the Rock-n-Roll board! 5517. Lucky in Love-Mick Jagger 1985 There was a time I liked this more than Just Another Night. Now I really don't care about either. 5516. Heroes-David Bowie 1977 Didn't know this until recent years, on some concert or something. Not a huge Bowie fan. 5515. Oh Yeah-Yello 1987 Ok, how many movies and commercials was THIS one in? Ferris Bueller jumps to mind. Sick of it. 5514. Get Over it-Eagles 1994 (new addition) This was good to hear something new from them, but it didn't hold up. 5513. Even Better Than the Real Thing-U2 1992 Mysterious Ways was their last truly great song, not this. 5512. Doolin’ Dalton -Eagles 1973 (new addition) I learned this from the great new 2 disc collection. Nice, but kindof slow. 5511. My Town-Montgomery Gentry 2002 (new addition) New country duo that tries to be "bad ass". This song isn't bad though. 5510. Jaded-Aerosmith 2001 (previous ranking 4114) When this came out, I thought it was a good rock effort for them, thus the previous ranking. But it's faded. 5509. The Reflex-Duran Duran 1984 Duran was a chick act around here, but my buddy's sister was into them, so I heard them a lot. 5508. Wonderful Tonight-Eric Clapton 1978 First of all, THIS IS NOT A LOVE SONG!!! Patti was taking too long getting ready for a party, and kept asking Slowhand how she looked and he was losing patience, "Yes, you look wonderful tonight!" WHEW! Having said that, I never thought much of the song. 5507. Welcome to the Machine-Pink Floyd 1975 Gets classic rock play, but it's not as good as the other stuff on the album. 5506. Fever-Madonna 1994 I am actually surprised I have this ranked higher than the McCoys version! But as long as Elvis is number one, that's all that matters! 5505. Cry-Faith Hill 2002 (new addition) The song and album that had everyone "CRYing" sell out. She sold out on the PREVIOUS album! 5504. Wherever I May Roam-Metallica 1992 From the legendary black album. I liked the earlier stuff better. 5503. Galeveston-GLen Campbell 1969 (new addition) Actually didn't know this until CMT's Top 100 Songs of Country where it placed in the top 10. And it's a sort of signature song for him! 5502. Lady of the Island-Crosby, Stills, Nash 1969 (new addition) One of the very few cuts I didn't get into from that wonderful debut. 5501. Big Girls Don’t Cry-Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons 1962 One of their signature hits, but like the Beach Boys, I like the later stuff better. 5500. Stop Your Sobbing-Pretenders 1980 One of their Kinks covers. (Hey, I used that today on the Linking Game!) Good cover. 5499. Mr. Roboto-Styx 1983 I once asked a guy who was into Skinny Puppy and Thrill Kill Cult what was wrong with groups like Styx. He looked at me and said, "Domo anie gato, Mr Roboto." I think that says it all. 5498. A Teenager in Love-Dion & the Belmonts 1959 Another signature song. Nice, but not the best. Have at it!

5517. Lucky in Love-Mick Jagger 1985 I've only heard this a few times. Pretty good tune.
5516. Heroes-David Bowie 1977 I like some of David's songs, but I'm not big on this one.
5515. Oh Yeah-Yello 1987 I've never liked this at all.
5514. Get Over it-Eagles 1994 (new addition) Their newer material has been a little disappointing.
5513. Even Better Than the Real Thing-U2 1992 This isn't ringing a bell.
5512. Doolin’ Dalton -Eagles 1973 (new addition) That collection is great, I agree, very complete. Not their best.
5511. My Town-Montgomery Gentry 2002 (new addition) Not familiar with this one.
5510. Jaded-Aerosmith 2001 (previous ranking 4114) I may have heard it, but the melody's not coming to me.
5509. The Reflex-Duran Duran 1984 Now we're talking! One of my favorites from them.
5508. Wonderful Tonight-Eric Clapton 1978 Nicely sung, but the oldies stations around here have played it so often that I'm tired of it.
5507. Welcome to the Machine-Pink Floyd 1975 Classic Floyd! Great song, one I rarely hear.
5506. Fever-Madonna 1994 I've never heard her version of this.
5505. Cry-Faith Hill 2002 (new addition) Not a bad song, but I like her earlier material more.
5504. Wherever I May Roam-Metallica 1992 I've never been much of a Metallica fan.
5503. Galeveston-GLen Campbell 1969 (new addition) A country-pop classic. I need to look into a CD of his greatest hits sometime.
5502. Lady of the Island-Crosby, Stills, Nash 1969 (new addition) Okay, not the best from that album, though.
5501. Big Girls Don’t Cry-Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons 1962 I also prefer the late 60s-70s material.
5500. Stop Your Sobbing-Pretenders 1980 Not my favorite from them, but a good tune still.
5499. Mr. Roboto-Styx 1983 Oh, memories of this one! Not as good as their 70s stuff, but fun to listen to occasionally.
5498. A Teenager in Love-Dion & the Belmonts 1959 A pleasant song from the early rock era.

5517. Lucky in Love-Mick Jagger 1985 I'm just not a big Mick fan. Song is just so-so.
5516. Heroes-David Bowie 1977 See above. Replace "Mick" with " David"
5515. Oh Yeah-Yello 1987 Should I know this? I don't
5514. Get Over it-Eagles 1994 (new addition) I like this one. Not typical Eagles, but has a good message. (IMO)
5513. Even Better Than the Real Thing-U2 1992 Don't know it
5512. Doolin’ Dalton -Eagles 1973 (new addition) It's OK, but far from their best. On one of their albums they do a medley of this and Desperado (with different words for Desperado, if I remember correctly). Daltons does not hold a candle to Desperado.
5511. My Town-Montgomery Gentry 2002 (new addition) Don't know it.
5510. Jaded-Aerosmith 2001 (previous ranking 4114) It's not bad, not great.
5509. The Reflex-Duran Duran 1984 Eh
5508. Wonderful Tonight-Eric Clapton 1978 Damn! I never knew that story. Really detracts from the song, IMO. Love the song. Top 250 (for now, anyway).
5507. Welcome to the Machine-Pink Floyd 1975 Barely remember it.
5506. Fever-Madonna 1994 I assume you mean ranked on the Insane List, not on the charts. I don't think either Madonna or Elvis made the charts with this.
Give me Little Willie John any day.
5505. Cry-Faith Hill 2002 (new addition) Don't know it.
5504. Wherever I May Roam-Metallica 1992 Oh, good! Another Metallica song I don't know that I oughtta download for free. ;D
5503. Galveston-GLen Campbell 1969 (new addition) Wichita and Phoenix were about all the cities I could take, Glen.
5502. Lady of the Island-Crosby, Stills, Nash 1969 (new addition) One of those songs that I know I have heard (probably several times), but it never left an impression.
5501. Big Girls Don’t Cry-Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons 1962 It has become a classic, but what it really was, was a followup to Sherry which is the true classic.
5500. Stop Your Sobbing-Pretenders 1980 Don't know it
5499. Mr. Roboto-Styx 1983 Near the bottom of my Styx lyst.
5498. A Teenager in Love-Dion & the Belmonts 1959 It's become a classic, but I like others of theirs more also.

5506. Fever-Madonna 1994 I assume you mean ranked on the Insane List, not on the charts. I don't think either Madonna or Elvis made the charts with this. Yes, I meant my list. Elvis didn't, but Madonna did, even had a video for it.

5517. Lucky in Love-Mick Jagger 1985 I remember when this was out, the local DJ was playing the record and "Filling in the blanks" at the end where Mick does that improvised bit. He breaks in and goes "What's the matter, don't you have any money?" just before Mick yells "I'm Broke!".. Classic funny moment that I'm probably the only person who remembers.
5516. Heroes-David Bowie 1977 Great one, spun this a few times while having a "Bowie Moment" at the club.
5515. Oh Yeah-Yello 1987 I remember the Twix commercials from the 80's the most. Also used in The Simpsons when the "Duff-Man" makes an appearance. "Ohhhh Yeeeeeaahhhh?" I'm familiar with some of Yello's music, it's similar to Kraftwerk.
5514. Get Over it-Eagles 1994 (new addition) Eh...
5513. Even Better Than the Real Thing-U2 1992 Cool video, one of the better tunes from Achtung
5511. My Town-Montgomery Gentry 2002 (new addition) I think I've heard of these guys, I saw them on CMT. Not bad, they seem to have a harder edge than a lot of modern country.
5510. Jaded-Aerosmith 2001 (previous ranking 4114) Didn't care for it..
5509. The Reflex-Duran Duran 1984 Loved it then, love it now!
5508. Wonderful Tonight-Eric Clapton 1978 Never liked this song. If you've ever had to play this in a band, you'd know why.. Boring!
5507. Welcome to the Machine-Pink Floyd 1975 I like it, I wasn't too crazy about this album, though.
5506. Fever-Madonna 1994 No...
5504. Wherever I May Roam-Metallica 1992 One of their better songs.
5503. Galeveston-GLen Campbell 1969 (new addition) YES!! Glen rocks! Jimmy Webb classic!
5502. Lady of the Island-Crosby, Stills, Nash 1969 (new addition) I always skip this one too. Graham Nash left the Hollies because they didn't want to record this. He should have listened to them!
5501. Big Girls Don’t Cry-Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons 1962 Early 4 Seasons on Vee Jay IRRITATES me for the most part. They didn't become great until they switched labels!
5500. Stop Your Sobbing-Pretenders 1980 Great cover!
5499. Mr. Roboto-Styx 1983 I like it, but I prefer 70's Styx. (BTW-Adam, what collection of pre-Shaw Styx is it that you have? Does it have an orange cover with a B&W pic of them? If so, I picked it up last week.)
5498. A Teenager in Love-Dion & the Belmonts 1959 ANOTHER reason why I don't care for this era of music.. No denying that Dion was a talented singer, though.

5517. Lucky in Love-Mick Jagger 1985 You said it best - I really don't care about either.
5516. Heroes-David Bowie 1977 Pretty good. The "thin white Duke" period was my fave Bowie era.
5515. Oh Yeah-Yello 1987 SO OVERPLAYED
5514. Get Over it-Eagles 1994 (new addition) Didn't like this one at all.
5513. Even Better Than the Real Thing-U2 1992 Not their best.
5512. Doolin’ Dalton -Eagles 1973 (new addition) I like this tune quite a bit actually.
5511. My Town-Montgomery Gentry 2002 (new addition) Surprise! I don't know this.
5510. Jaded-Aerosmith 2001 (previous ranking 4114) Nope.
5509. The Reflex-Duran Duran 1984 Not their best but I can't help but sing along any time I hear it.
5508. Wonderful Tonight-Eric Clapton 1978 My dad does a great imitation of Clapton's voice on this song..."it's late in the eeeevneeng... LOL! ;D
5507. Welcome to the Machine-Pink Floyd 1975 Yuck
5506. Fever-Madonna 1994 There are about 100 better versions of this song than hers.
5505. Cry-Faith Hill 2002 (new addition) Don't know this...oh wait is this that song from Pearl Harbor?
5504. Wherever I May Roam-Metallica 1992 Not bad at all.
5503. Galeveston-GLen Campbell 1969 (new addition) Surprised you didn't know it before the CMT show. My grandma was a huge fan and played his stuff all time.
5502. Lady of the Island-Crosby, Stills, Nash 1969 (new addition) Weak track for them IMO.
5501. Big Girls Don’t Cry-Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons 1962 A signature hit but kind of annoying. Very catchy though...
5500. Stop Your Sobbing-Pretenders 1980 Nice cover that I haven't heard in a while.
5499. Mr. Roboto-Styx 1983 DeYoung will NEVER live this down. It was a hit for them though. And I like Dennis and Tommy's vocals on this track.
5498. A Teenager in Love-Dion & the Belmonts 1959 A classic but overplayed IMO.

5517 - Lucky in Love - I thought that Just Another Night was ok - his solo work never did much for me
5516 - Heroes - I really like his early 70's tunes - took awhile to warm up to this.
5515 - Oh Yeah - Grew tired of this fast.
5514 - Get Over It - I liked it - it recieved quite a bit of airplay at the time.
5513 - Even Better Than The Real Thing - I didn't mind this at all. Not a whole lot of their output from around this time really did alot for me.
5512 - Doolin Dalton - A great song and the album doesn't get as much attention as it should.
5511 - My Town - The duo name is familiar - I might have heard this but I'm not sure.
5510 - Jaded - I still really like it - at least it brought them out of " ballad mode"
5509 - The Reflex - it was ok - Hungry Like The Wolf is the only one I really paid much attention to.
5508 - Wonderful Tonight - An EC fave.
5507 - Welcome To The Machine - It just kind of drags on a bit too long for me . My classic rock station loves it.
5506 - Fever - Madonna never really did much for me especially by this point.
5505 - Cry - This was alright but it sure was overplayed.
5504 - Wherever I May Roam - Not familiar
5503 - We had the 45 in the house when I was little - so this was the first song of his I knew.
5502 - Lady of The Island - A nice tune.
5501 - Big Girls Don't Cry - A Four Seasons fave!
5500 - Stop Your Sobbing - This was the version I heard first - Chrissie did a great job.
5499 - Mr. Roboto - I've always liked Styx and really liked this at the time even recording it off the radio. However it hasn't aged well and I find it very hard to listen to now.
5498 - A Teenager in Love - Excellent tune !

5517. Lucky in Love-Mick Jagger 1985 Always loved this.
5516. Heroes-David Bowie 1977 Good tune.
5515. Oh Yeah-Yello 1987 One reason why I have always been into synth music. Unforgettable after just one listen. Somewhat corny, but I've always loved it, especially since my first year of college in early '89.
5514. Get Over it-Eagles 1994 (new addition) Could do without it.
5513. Even Better Than the Real Thing-U2 1992 Earlier stuff was better.
5512. Doolin’ Dalton -Eagles 1973 (new addition) not bad.
5511. My Town-Montgomery Gentry 2002 (new addition) This town is my town... oh wait, that's the Michael Stanley Band... ;D
5510. Jaded-Aerosmith 2001 (previous ranking 4114) Earlier stuff, please.
5509. The Reflex-Duran Duran 1984 A chick act, but I knew some male fans too. Good tune.
5508. Wonderful Tonight-Eric Clapton 1978 Timeless. gets better with age.
5507. Welcome to the Machine-Pink Floyd 1975 Pretty good, but Cigar's even better.
5506. Fever-Madonna 1994 Actually, I think Madonna had Peggy Lee in mind. No one touches Peggy's version. And this made the dance club top 10, did NOT hit Billboard's HOT 100 (back when still only single releases qualified for the chart.)
5505. Cry-Faith Hill 2002 (new addition) Not the Pearl Harbor tune (There you'll be). Reasonable, but gimme "This kiss".
5504. Wherever I May Roam-Metallica 1992 Not bad.
5503. Galeveston-GLen Campbell 1969 (new addition) Don't recall this much from childhood, but love it today!
5502. Lady of the Island-Crosby, Stills, Nash 1969 (new addition) One of the album's weaker tracks.
5501. Big Girls Don’t Cry-Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons 1962 This, not "Sherry", was what I remember best of them in childhood. Never gotten sick of it.
5500. Stop Your Sobbing-Pretenders 1980 One of the reasons why I love their debut album!
5499. Mr. Roboto-Styx 1983 Always loved it.
5498. A Teenager in Love-Dion & the Belmonts 1959 Give or take; prefer "Where or when".

Lucky In Love--Don't remember how this goes, but I don't think I liked it much. Heroes--Not a bad tune. I kinda like David Bowie. Oh Yeah--I've always liked it. Wish I were more familiar with Yello's music. Get Over It--It's ok. Nothing much to write home about though. Even Better Than The Real Thing--Seems like Pepsi coulda used that title in a commercial somehow. Doolin' Dalton--Remember the title, don't remember the tune. My Town--I'm not real impressed with Montgomery Gentry. Seems like they're trying too hard. BTW--isn't the "Montgomery" in this duo John Michael Montgomery's brother? I thought I heard that somewhere. Jaded--Heard this the other day in a store I was in. Hadn't heard it in awhile, and I had forgotten how much I liked it. The Reflex--This and "Wild Boys" are my favorite Duran songs. Can't really handle anything else by them. Wonderful Tonight--Great story! I had heard that a long time ago, and had forgotten about it. Changes the dynamics of the song quite a bit. Welcome to the Machine--It's ok to hear every once in awhile. Fever--I like this song no matter who sings it. This version is pretty good. Cry--Gawd! Please make it stop! Wherever I May Roam--Not ringing a bell. Galveston--Like KittyKat's grandma, mine was a big Glen Campbell fan too. I heard this song a lot while I was growing up. Brings back memories of my grandma whenever I hear it. Lady of the Island--Don't know it. Big Girls Don't Cry--Another ok song, but the falsetto gets annoying after awhile. Hey--Frankie Valli is joining the cast of "The Sopranos" this season! Stop Your Sobbing--Great song. Great cover. Mr. Roboto--Kind of annoying. Teenager in Love--Not really my style.

5509. The Reflex-Duran Duran 1984 Another DDR song...it's an okay song I guess. Not one I am very wild about though.
5508. Wonderful Tonight-Eric Clapton 1978 I guess this one is okay.
5507. Welcome to the Machine-Pink Floyd 1975 This one is pretty cool.
5506. Fever-Madonna 1994 Never heard this one.

5515. Oh Yeah-Yello 1987 Ok, how many movies and commercials was THIS one in? Ferris Bueller jumps to mind. Sick of it. It also gets played at wedding receptions sometimes when they do the bit with the garter. (No, we did not do this at MY wedding--I didn't even have a garter!) 5513. Even Better Than the Real Thing-U2 1992 Mysterious Ways was their last truly great song, not this. I like this one better. "Mysterious Ways" is a great song but it got overplayed. 5510. Jaded-Aerosmith 2001 (previous ranking 4114) When this came out, I thought it was a good rock effort for them, thus the previous ranking. But it's faded. Trying to remember which song this is--is that the one that starts out with the horns--da-da-da-daaaaaa, da-da-da-daaaaaa... I always forget which song that is. I know it's Aerosmith, though, and it's one of their more recent ones (not one of their '70s or '80s ones). 5506. Fever-Madonna 1994 I am actually surprised I have this ranked higher than the McCoys version! But as long as Elvis is number one, that's all that matters! I think Madonna's version of this is probably the only one I haven't heard yet! Shirley Horn's version is my favorite. I have that on a compilation CD, "Gotta Get It Hits--Jazz", which I ordered off of a cereal box. (I have the classical one also--they had them in a lot of different genres.) 5499. Mr. Roboto-Styx 1983 I once asked a guy who was into Skinny Puppy and Thrill Kill Cult what was wrong with groups like Styx. He looked at me and said, "Domo anie gato, Mr Roboto." I think that says it all. I thought of that song last night at my son's karate class when the kids were bowing and saying to the teacher, "Domo arigato, Sensei"! Actually I liked this song, but I've heard the album and it didn't work as a concept album. It works better as just a regular album, if you know what I mean. Anyway, this song is tons better than "Music Time", which was their last hit before they broke up (I think they're back together again now in some form or another).

Wow, not as many you like on this one!

5511. My Town-Montgomery Gentry 2002 (new addition) I think I've heard of these guys, I saw them on CMT. Not bad, they seem to have a harder edge than a lot of modern country. 5499. Mr. Roboto-Styx 1983 I like it, but I prefer 70's Styx. (BTW-Adam, what collection of pre-Shaw Styx is it that you have? Does it have an orange cover with a B&W pic of them? If so, I picked it up last week.) 5511. Wow, I didn't think you'd ever even turn on CMT! 5499. It's one of those real cheapo collections, the type you'd see at gas stations off expressways. The cover is a similation of the their Styx II album. I can tell you what tracks are on it if you wanted to compare or whatever.

5516. Heroes-David Bowie 1977 Pretty good. The "thin white Duke" period was my fave Bowie era. 5505. Cry-Faith Hill 2002 (new addition) Don't know this...oh wait is this that song from Pearl Harbor? 5516. I never understood that nickname. 5505. No, that was There You'll Be.
