Wow, another week!
5037 Tossin’ and Turnin’-Bobby Lewis 1961
Sound-wise, this coulda been a 50s song. Used to love it as a kid, sick of it now.
5036 Take a Bow-Madonna 1995
Great video, as Madonna looks like she is going to sleep with a TV set. Her songs were fading by this point.
5035 Come Go With Me-Beach Boys 1981/82
Another one of those late career covers I mentioned before. I actually prefer this updated sound over the original.
5034 Stone Cold Crazy-Queen 1974
I listened to this one for the same reason I listened to Stone Cold Believer. I believe this was a fave of Metallica's.
5033 I Know You’re Out There Somewhere-Moody Blues 1988
This was their followup album to The Other Side of Life, but was a bit of a disappointment. Although this song is better than that title cut.
5032 Hold on! I'm a Comin-Sam & Dave 1966
Legendary soul-rocker that I have just grown tired of.
5031 Rock and a Hard Place-Rolling Stones 1989
God, they played the crap out of these "comeback" singles by the Stones that year. I got SO sick of them!
5030 In-n-Out-Van Halen 1991
Not as filthy as it sounds. It was about going in and out of the world. They were writing annoying songs at this point.
5029 The Hustle-Van McCoy 1975
Don't remember this from when I was a kid, just disco and 70s specials in the past 15 years or so. Not bad.
5028 Isn’t Life Strange-Moody Blues 1972
One of my lesser faves of their early album cuts.
5027 The Heart of Rock-n-Roll-Huey Lewis & the News 1984
I tried to be a fan back then, but his songs just didn't stick with me very well.
5026 The Horizontal Bop-Bob Seger 1980
I remember seeing the title on the album for years and thought it sounded like it was one that would get radio play. And they finally did start to play it. Don't like it much though.
5025 Gimmie a Little Sign-Brenton Wood 1967
He actually sings Gimmie SOME KINDA Sign, but that's ok. This is in there with Sweet Soul Music and several other late 60s sould hits that still get oldies play.
5024 Mixed Emotions-Rolling Stones 1989
Their other big overplayed hit that year. God, make it stop! Button YOUR lip, Mick!
5023 You Shook Me-Led Zeppelin 1969
Just didn't dig the bluesy stuff on that first album.
5022 Honey Don’t-Beatles 1964
Ringo and George really loved Carl. I need to go back and listen to his originals like I did with Buddy's stuff.
5021 Back on the Chain Gang-Pretenders 1982/83
Probably the best of their post-Honeyman-Scott/Farndon stuff. 5020 No One Like You-Scorpions 1982
Go back to 1982 and TRY to find a day MTV didn't play this. This is a more tolerable one from this annoying band.
5019 First Cut is the Deepest-Rod Stewart 1977 (new addition)
I had this on a compilation for years, and never actively listened to it. Now that Sheryl has done it, it's getting play, even on VH-1 Classic. My least fave version.
5018 Head Over Heels-Tears For Fears 1985
Like this better than the other 2 big singles from this album. I need that compilation.
Go for it!

5037 Tossin’ and Turnin’-Bobby Lewis 1961 This does sound 50s in sound, I agree. Nice to hear occasionally.
5036 Take a Bow-Madonna 1995 One of her best from the 90s.
5035 Come Go With Me-Beach Boys 1981/82 I've been really impressed with their covers - they do a great job.
5034 Stone Cold Crazy-Queen 1974 Not familiar with this.
5033 I Know You’re Out There Somewhere-Moody Blues 1988 Not as good as their earlier material, but not bad.
5032 Hold on! I'm a Comin-Sam & Dave 1966 Great tune.
5031 Rock and a Hard Place-Rolling Stones 1989 Love this!! My favorite of their late 80s songs by far.
5030 In-n-Out-Van Halen 1991 Don't know it.
5029 The Hustle-Van McCoy 1975 Boy, this brings back the memories! I've always loved it.
5028 Isn’t Life Strange-Moody Blues 1972 I agree, this wasn't their best.
5027 The Heart of Rock-n-Roll-Huey Lewis & the News 1984 Good rockin' tune from a solid album.
5026 The Horizontal Bop-Bob Seger 1980 Not one of my favorites from him.
5025 Gimmie a Little Sign-Brenton Wood 1967 A 60s fave of mine.
5024 Mixed Emotions-Rolling Stones 1989 I'm kind of indifferent to this one.
5023 You Shook Me-Led Zeppelin 1969 Not bad, but they had better ones from that period.
5022 Honey Don’t-Beatles 1964 I like this, but their originals were better.
5021 Back on the Chain Gang-Pretenders 1982/83 I remember hearing this a lot my freshman year. Good one.
5020 No One Like You-Scorpions 1982 The classic rock stations here like this one a lot! Pretty good.
5019 First Cut is the Deepest-Rod Stewart 1977 (new addition) Great Rod tune. My mom used to play his A Night on the Town LP a lot back in '77, and this is one of my favorites from that album.
5018 Head Over Heels-Tears For Fears 1985 Super tune! I need to pick up a compilation of theirs myself.

5037 Tossin’ and Turnin’-Bobby Lewis 1961 Loved it then, love it now. You'll be seeing it on my list.
5036 Take a Bow-Madonna 1995 Don't think I know it
5035 Come Go With Me-Beach Boys 1981/82 Not bad, but not as good as most of their originals. - And I love the Del Vikings version of this.
5034 Stone Cold Crazy-Queen 1974 Don't think I know it.
5033 I Know You’re Out There Somewhere-Moody Blues 1988 I've only heard it a couple of times. It's pretty good, but they did better.
5032 Hold on! I'm a Comin-Sam & Dave 1966 Can't believe this only hit #21. It's their best song!
5031 Rock and a Hard Place-Rolling Stones 1989 Don't remember it
5030 In-n-Out-Van Halen 1991 Don't know it
5029 The Hustle-Van McCoy 1975 Not a fave, but very catchy. Don't mind listening to it today.
5028 Isn’t Life Strange-Moody Blues 1972 Good song. When I first heard it I thought it was The Bee Gees, or maybe Donovan.
5027 The Heart of Rock-n-Roll-Huey Lewis & the News 1984 Better than most by him, but that still is saying very little.
5026 The Horizontal Bop-Bob Seger 1980 Don't know it.
5025 Gimmie a Little Sign-Brenton Wood 1967 You're Right, Adam! I wonder how they got the title... Good song, but I liked The Oogum Boogum Song better.
5024 Mixed Emotions-Rolling Stones 1989 I remember this one, but wasn't to crazy about it.
5023 You Shook Me-Led Zeppelin 1969 Never cared for this - or the album. (liked 2,3, and 4 better). Like the Album even less now. It's got a picture of the Hindenburg on it, and most people incorrectly believe it was a hydrogen explosion.
5022 Honey Don’t-Beatles 1964 One of a bunch of Ringo songs on early Beatles albums. They're mostly C&W stuff, and they're not bad, but not as good as most of the other stuff. It's kinda like Ringo went to the other guys and said, aw pleeese can I sing a song, can I, can I , pleeeeeese?
5021 Back on the Chain Gang-Pretenders 1982/83 Pretty Good
5020 No One Like You-Scorpions 1982 Not familiar with it
5019 First Cut is the Deepest-Rod Stewart 1977 (new addition) Not bad. -- But when I hear it, it's one of these songs that starts off great and kinda never builds.
5018 Head Over Heels-Tears For Fears 1985 Good group, fine song (but I agree, I like the others better.)

5037 - Tossin' and Turnin' - Still love it.
5036 - Take a Bow - I was really tired of Madonna by this point.
5035 - Come and Go With Me - I'm aware that they did this , but have never heard it.

5032 - Hold On I'm a Comin' - Superb
5031 - Rock And a Hard Place - The Stones were on kind of shaky ground at this point - but I did like the song.
5030 - In - and Out - Sounds kind of familiar.
5029 - The Hustle - I really enjoyed this as a kid back then. Have oit on a disco CD compilation.
5028 - Isn't life Strange - It's been awhile since I've listened to it but I don't remember liking it all that much -I seem to remember it being a very slow song.
5027 - The Heart Of Rock and Roll - Woo Hoo
5026 - The Horizontal Bop - Thought it was very good.
5025- Gimme Little Sign - Heard this on Ktel's Flashback Fever as a kid and liked it right away - I have it on 45 and I think CD as well.
5024 - Mixed Emotions - I bought the 45 at the time "hiding behind monitor" and thought it was an excellent tuner - I even liked the b - side.
5023 - You Shook Me - A classic rock staple if there ever was one LOL - don't mind it in very small doses.
5022 - Honey Don't - This was a HUGE fave of mine as a kid - still love it.
5021 - Back on The Chain Gang - Still sounds fresh today!
5020 - No One Like You - I 'd have to hear it.

5034 - Stone Cold Crazy - Yeah Metallica performed it at the Freddie Tribute concert - if I remember correctly. This is a big Queen fave. I have it on tape and couldn't remember if it was this or Hammer to Fall that they did. In the Classic Queen liners, it said Queen also did whatever the other song was in concert.

Tossin' and Turnin'--Always liked it. Haven't heard it for quite awhile. Take a Bow--Never really liked this one much. Didn't think much of the video either. Come Go With Me--Probably don't know it. Stone Cold Crazy--Don't remember it. I Know You're Out There Somewhere--Good one! Like it a lot. Hold On I'm a Comin'--Another good one. Always enjoy hearing it. Rock and a Hard Place--All those Stones songs from that era sound the same, and I don't like any of 'em. In N Out--Not familiar. Wasn't listening to Van Halen too much then. The Hustle--This got old quick. Way overplayed. It still kinda makes me cringe when I hear it today. Isn't Life Strange--Don't remember it. The Heart of Rock and Roll--One of my fave Huey songs. The Horizontal Bop--Love it. Fun party song. Lotsa memories. Gimme Little Sign--Almost forgot about this one. Haven't heard it in years. I'd like to have a listen to it again sometime. Mixed Emotions--A couple of local radio dj's did a parody of this song. It was called "Mick's Lip Lotion". It was pretty funny. You Shook Me--I'd probably know it if I heard it. Honey Don't--Hmm...not ringing any bells. Back on the Chain Gang--Real good song. Love Chrissie Hynde. No One Like You--Hate it. Despise the Scorpions. First Cut is the Deepest--Great song, good version. Sheryl did a fine job with it, as well. Head Over Heels--Ick. Can't stand Tears for Fears.

5037 Tossin’ and Turnin’ - Bobby Lewis
Not bad.
5036 Take a Bow - Madonna
This is my favorite Madonna song. She has a really pretty voice if she'd actually use it sometimes.
5035 Come Go With Me - Beach Boys
I don't believe I've heard their version.
5034 - 5030. Don't know these.
5029 The Hustle - Van McCoy
I could never hear this song again and it would still be too soon for me.
5028 - 5020. Wow! I don't know any of these!
5019 First Cut is the Deepest - Rod Stewart
This is okay, but I love Sheryl Crow's version. Ten times better.
5018 Head Over Heels - Tears For Fears
I bought a compilation of theirs for my sister, but I haven't listened to the whole thing yet. Love this song though. Probably my favorite by them.

Tossin' & Turnin' - Does sound like a 50s song. Good one. Take a Bow - don't know it Come Go With Me - average song Stoned Cold Crazy - Good song I Know You're Out There Somewhere - Don't know it Hold On - Great classic R&B. love it Rock & Hard Place - Really didn't like this one. In-n-Out - don't know it The Hustle - Was all over the radio in the 70s. Not really that bad of a song. I hear it at work on our classic oldies digital cable station. Did anyway ever really do the Hustle?
Isn't Life Strange - Yes it is. Great song from the Moody Blues
Heart of Rock & Roll - Love it.
Horizonal Bop - Maybe my least favorite cut from that album.
Gimme a Little Sign - Got this on a 60s party CD. Great song
Mixed Emotion - Heard it a couple of times, don't really like it.
You Shook Me - Good song, never hear it anymore.
Honey Don't - OK cover
Back on the Chain Gang - Remember the title, can't place the song.
No One Like You - Pretty good song.
First Cut is the Deepest - I've heard Sheryl Crow do this about once to many times. Rod's version is much better.
Head over Heels - Didn't like it

5032 Hold on! I'm a Comin-Sam & Dave 1966 Can't believe this only hit #21. It's their best song! I can't believe it because it is such a classic at this point! And without being an "FM" song.

This is my favorite Madonna song. She has a really pretty voice if she'd actually use it sometimes. Yeah, she needs to concentrate on singing and less on shock value.
