A great collection of songs, Adam. Wonderful Christmastime has always been a big fave of mine, and having grown up listening to Elvis' Christmas Album, those songs hold fond memories for me also. Martina's version of O Holy Night is absolutely amazng, the best I've ever heard.

I like this very much! The U2 and Kinks tracks are two big faves.
I was just listening to Martina's Xmas CD on Tuesday and her version of O' Holy Night knocks me out.The Beach Boys' Merry Christmas Baby is a great Christmas rocker.

I guess I never answered thiis either.
I just want to comment on one song: The Jackson 5 version of Santa Claus is Coming to Town. Other than the "standard" way of singing this song, I know of only two other forms. One was the Four Seasons version that was adapted to their signature style ('you better not cry-ya-ya-ya-y, baby') and the other was the Jackson 5 version. Definitely contains more R&B/soul than the standard and is quite pleasing on the ear. A couple of weeks ago I was in a restaurant - oddly enough a Chinese restaurant - and they had Christmas music going on their sound system (strange enough in itself.) They played a version of Santa Claus is Coming to Town that used the exact same form as the Jackson 5 version -but it was by someone else. I don't know who, but it was one single man. I thought it interesting in that here was someone covering not the well-worn standard, but a unique arrangement. Kinda cool, actually.

These are some of my favorites:
Put a Little Holiday in Your Heart-Leann Rimes Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)-U2 Man With the Bag-Lee Ann Womack Only You Can Bring Me Cheer (Gentleman's Lady)-Alison Krauss A Wonderful Christmastime-Paul McCartney
I had forgotten about the Kinks "Father Christmas". I have that on an old cassette somewhere.
Heat Miser from The Year Without a Santa Claus- I assume this is the version directly from the special... Big Bad Voodoo Daddy has a version of this called "Mr. Heatmeiser" that is great!
And, yes, of course Martina's O'Holy Night is the best version there is!
