Say, I hope you don't mind if I did this again. ;D
If I get a repeat tune from my last list, I'll pass it and go to the next. Yes, shuffling can be strange. In many of my own cases, 10cc's "I'm Not in Love" seems to be the start. It's happened at least a dozen times or so.
I don't believe it! I'm serious and I'm definitely not lying. You'll never guess what the first tune is? Yes, it's on shuffle but it does this a lot. There must be a reason.
1) I'm Not in Love (10cc) - this is the full 6:00 version. 2) Heartbeat (It's a Love Beat) - The DeFranco Family - seriously, this song kicks ass! 3) Bulls on Parade (Rage Against the Machine) - WOW! Did those two tunes not blend very well... hahaha 4) I've Done Everything for You (Rick Springfield) - this was Sammy Hagar's tune that Rick IMO, does it a bit better. 5) Honey and Vinegar (Down to Earth Approach)
6) 2000 Light Years from Home (Rolling Stones) - why don't the Stones play this tune in concert? I don't think any fan would object. 7) It Will Stand (The Showmen) - an oldie but goodie! 8) One More Time (Daft Punk) 9) Lightning Strikes the Postman (Aereogramme) - I'm not surprised for I've been playing the crap out of this tune. It's a cover (originally by The Flaming Lips) well done. 10) The Orange County Lumber Truck (Frank Zappa) - some really great guitar leads by Frank.
11) Sweet Cherry Wine (album version) - Tommy James & The Shondells 12) Brave Strangers (Bob Seger) 13) This Is Really the Zoo Plus Two (The Endd) - I have a few compilation CDs of 60's, early 70's garage & psychedelic rock that's rare to find. 14) Silver Dollar Forger (Nazareth) 15) Love Song for No One (John Mayer)
16) Take a Look Around (James Gang) - live version! 17) This Girl's in Love With You (Dionne Warwick) - you know, I'll take Dionne and Gladys Knight over Aretha anyday. 18) Good Day Sunshine (The Beatles) - I was gettin' worried there. Normally, I get a Beatles tune early on. 19) Black and White (Three Dog Night) 20) Fly Little White Dove, Fly (The Bells) - The Bells are most famous for "Stay Awhile," but this tune IMO, is their best.
21) Poet and Peasant Overture (Franz Von Suppe) 22) All Kinds of Time (Fountains of Wayne) 23) The Day We Fall in Love (The Monkees) - you don't see this song mentioned that often with Monkees discussions. I've loved it as a kid and still do. 24) Desire (Andy Gibb) 25) Driver's Seat (Sniff 'n' the Tears) - I recall a few years ago that someone mentioned that there's a different version with a longer ending. It's quite possible they were talkin' about the album version (for which I'm not familiar with). If anyone knows, please let me know. I prefer the album version anyday over the single.

Hi Berjo 1) Turn-Down Day (The Cyrkle) This has always been a big fave - I first heard this back in the early 80's. 3) We Can Work it Out (The Beatles) LOVE it! 5) Tomorrow Never Knows (The Beatles) When I first heard this as a kid back in the early 70's, I wasn't quite sure what to think LOL. Of course, now I love it. 8) In Context of the Moon (Max Webster) I've heard quite a few Max Webster tunes, but not this one. I would have to say that my favorite track of their's is High Class in Borrowed Shoes. 12) Drugs in My Pocket (The Monks) I haven't heard this in a looooong time. 14) Skweeze Me Pleeze Me (Slade) i'm a big fan of these guys! 15) Let's Talk About Girls (Chocolate Watch Band) Another garage band classic I heard for the first time in the 80's thanks to the good people at Rhino records 16) Julia Get Up (The Stampeders) Woo Hoo The Stampeders! - An excellent tune. 22) Teenage Head (The Flamin' Groovies) Love "The Groovies" very, very much!

4) Carl's Big Chance (The Beach Boys) - another instrumental Cool that this turned up...very overlooked early offering from them. 23) Precious Love (Bob Welch) I've always loved this; a shame it's never heard on the radio anymore. I think I may have included this song in one of my old "5 Lost Songs from..." feature from a few years ago. I've been thinking of possibly picking that feature up again sometime.

It's just that it doesn't seem possible that so many years have passed since those songs were popular..seems like almost yesterday in a way. I can definitely relate about living in the wrong era. Based on my musical likes, I always say I should have been born in 1958 instead of 1968!

Hi Berjo 8) In Context of the Moon (Max Webster) I've heard quite a few Max Webster tunes, but not this one. Hi Ken! (call me Pete) I'm a big, BIG fan of Max Webster. As for "Drugs in My Pocket" - I too haven't heard it in ages and the CD always sold for cheap but I kept waitin' for a remastered version. Anyway, I couldn't wait any longer and eventually got it new for 5 bucks (or something) and couldn't pass it. An old girlfriend used to have the album and I always played the first tune on side 2... "Nice Legs Shame About Her Face" - I still LOVE that tune! As for Slade - and early garage bands - The Stampeders - Yes, lots of great tunes but also lots of not so great either. However, their good ones outweigh the others. As for the Flamin' Groovies - man, they've been around a long time. I've always like that one tune.

Say, another fan of overlooked gems I've always loved that little instumental by the boys. As for "Precious Love" - I still remember when AM radio played it quite a bit when first released. And then that was it! I've never heard it again until Napster came around. I eventually bought Bob's Greatest Hits package.

Simon Says-1910 Fruitgum Company Off Bubblegum Classics Volume 2. 25. Can't You Hear Me Knockin'-Rolling Stones Off Sticky Fingers. Quite an eclectic list! I believe this is my favourite thread! Just so you know, I LOVE that Kinks tune. As for Slaughter's Up All Night - I love the intro and verses but I don't care for the chorus. I happen to have that album on CD with an acoustic version of "Fly to the Angels." I also have that Who CD. Although I like the verse, I can see/hear why Pete wanted a change. CCR - that tune is from my favourite CCR album, "Pendulum." There's not that many CCR fans out there that also feel the same way. They lean more to the over-rated "Cosmo's Factory." Actually, that album is good but half the tunes are covers. Split Endz - I still remember buying the 45. Man, I went nutz over that tune. It finally wore off. Simon Says - I LOVE bubblegum music. As for that Stones tune - love the Stones but some tunes are growing thin. A great intro but I got tired of it. I'm back into their 60's material once again.

(I'm assuming they're bootlegs) April Wine - gotta love them. I bought the 45 to that tune when first released. It was one of the last 45s that I've bought. Quarterflash - I can't recall the tune you've mentioned but I have "Harden My Heart" and I think everyone knows that one. Grand Funk - wow, I love that band (well, right up to 'Phoenix'). Lately, I've been playing "On Time" and their self-titled more than the rest.
