Post by SAT-I need more room!! on Sept 8, 2006 17:17:20 GMT -5
Doing my most common two features tonight. But tomorrow I'll be doing some different ones, so come back around!!! James Taylor-Greatest Hits This was one of Bekki's fave tapes, so when we saw it on disc (along with, among others, another T artist) at a superstar going out of biz, we picked it up. This was around 95. James Taylor-Greatest Hits Volume 2 It would only follow that we'd get this when it came out since we love Your Smiling Face. Got this not too long after it came out at the local place in the new used section. Television Hits 70's & 80's Bekki wanted this actually. All the biggie shows you could think of. Got this when a record store was going out of biz, along with Loverboy and Elvis. It was a place similar to Tower. . 38 Special-Flashback I had previously copies someone else's disc onto tape back around 89. I think I picked it up myself cuz I was seeing them in concert in 92. Not sure from where. (My dad later bought this same disc and I think I exchanged it for Journey's debut. Cyndi Thomson-My Heart Got this in the new used section, probably within a year of release. Unique voiced girl who retired from the biz and is now making a return. Three Dog Night-Celebrate The Three Dog Night Story 1965-1975 I had eyed this for YEARS but I thought maybe it was TOO much Dogs. Nonsense!! There is SO much beyond those 21 hits!! Well worth the investment if you like them. I THINK this was gift, within the past 3 or 4 years. Tiffany Shut up. Not mine. Bekki was on a nostalgia kick and upgraded her tape. Got this and the next one the same day at a used CD joint for $3.99 each. Around 98 or so. Ironically, I had this on used album as a gag gift from a buddy. Tiffany-Hold an Old Friend's Hand Same here. TLC-Fanmail Shut up, it's Bekki's again. She got this along with the Destiny's Child disc from the BMG fanclub back in 96. Touched By an Angel soundtrack When I realized how many Martina songs were available on other collections, I had to start getting them. Got this for Christmas from my dad, back in 03. Traffic-Smiling Phases I was SO happy to find this sealed at a record show for $20. (Now you can get it cheaper!) But I was very impressed it covered all their biggies. This had to be like 91. Tribute to Tradition All the info you see in Touched By an Angel, put it here. Martina does Tammy's 'Til I Can Make it on My Own, which she re-recorded for her Timeless CD. Triumph-Classics I had played the crap out of Bekki's tape of this (mostly side 2). They went out of print on disc, and then they were reissued. I got it almost immediately. (After we had bought her brother a couple for a gift-I got jealous!) I wanna say this was from like Sam Goody, back around 96. Turtles-20 Greatest Hits Got this when they were going to be playing out town fest, had to be back in 97 or so. Not sure where I got it. Shania Twain My good friend, dating back to Yesterdayland, Kathyb sent me this and several other CD's-this one was sealed! Wait-it still is! Sorry Kath! This was what, 3 years ago? Shania Twain-The Woman in Me I believe we ordered this through Columbia House-maybe not. If not, then I'm not sure where or when. Shania Twain-Come On Over This was one of the other CD's bought with JT. This was Bekki's first Country CD. And we were on our way! What do you have?

T Ty Tabor – Moonflower Lane (CD - R) Ty is the guitar player from Kings X. I was with my oldest brother the day he bought this back in 1998 (he's a big fan of the band) and I remember he played it in the car on the drive home. It's a very good disc. Almost all of the songs are very beatlesque. I got him to make me a copy not too long after. Ten Years After – A Space In Time This seems to be one of those CD titles that is always at a very good price ($5 or $6) everytime there is a local sale.I picked mine up at one of those very sales - sometime in the early 90's. A killer album. Teenage Fanclub – Four Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Six Seconds – A Shortcut To The Teenage Fanclub (Best Of) A very fine collection from these Scotish power popsters.Bought it new around 2004. Thin Lizzy – Jailbreak A classic that I had to have on disc - no question about it. I picked this up during a shopping trip down in Bellingham , Washington around 1990 / 1991. .38 Special – Flashback (Best Of) Picked this up during a sale at one of the localchain stores - in the mid 90's. George Thorogood – Born To Be Bad George Thorogood – The Baddest of "Born To Be Bad" was bought new way back in 1988, and "The Baddest Of " was bought used at that local Mom and Pop store back around '93 I guess for $7.99 - I still have the sticker on the jewel case. The Thorns - The Thorns - I bought this at the same time as the Three Dog Night Collection in 2003 - during a sale - I recieved 20% off TDN. Three Dog Night – The Three-Dog Night Story – 1965 – 1975 (2 CD’s) I seem to recall talking to Adam about this. From both Adam's advice and reading about it in my All Music Guide reference book - I decided to buy it, this was in 2003. Pete Townshend – Who Came First (+ 6 bonus tracks) (CD – R) Whenever I would see this in the store, it was always quite expensive (around $21).I was able to find the entire album on WIN MX to download - this was around 2002.I see that this along with a few other Townshend albums are back in print. The Traveling Wilburys – Volume 1 I bought this used from the Mom and Pop store - around 1992. T – Rex – Electric Warrior My Dad bought this for me as a Birthday gift in 1992. T – Rex – The Slider (+ 3 bonus tracks – ’97 remastered version) I bought this not long after it was reissued in 1997. T – Rex – Tanx I bought this in Bellingham from The Disc Jockey chain in Bellis Fair mall in 1990. T – Rex – Solid Gold Rapid Action (A Complete Hit Collection – 1970 – 1977 – 23 essential tracks) (Australian import) I special - ordered this from the Mom and Pop store shortly after reading a review in Record Collector magazine in 1991. Trooper – Two For The Show I bought this a couple of days after seeing the band play their 25th anniversary show back in 2000. Trooper – Hot Shots (Greatest Hits) This was an upgrade from my vinyl copy. I bought this new around 1989. Trooper – Trooper (1980) (CD – R) One of my middle brother's closest friend's and fellow Trooper fan let me borrow his import copy and make my very own. This was around 1998 (?) Derek Trucks Band – Joyful Noise (CD – R) Derek is the son of Allman Brothers member Butch Trucks. A fantastic record. A buddy my oldest brother works with made him a copy, so I borrowed it to make my copy. This was earlier this year. The Turtles – 20 Greatest Hits Another purchase from the Disc Jockey chain, in Bellingham, Wash in 1990. Shania Twain – Selections From The Come On Over CD (8 track sampler - Homemade - CD – R) A bit of a story goes along with this one. My middle brother bought his copy a couple of years back because someone always requests Shania when we DJ weddings. Well without telling him at some point my niece borrowed the disc and it went missing in her room. All my brother had was the jewel case. So I made this disc up as a replacement. His CD has since been found 20/20 – 20/ 20 (1979) / Lookout (1981) (two albums on one CD) More fine power pop - this was bought new from HMV in 1995. Dwight Twilley Band – Sincerely (+ 4 bonus tracks) Dwight Twilley Band – Twilley Don’t Mind (+1 bonus track) These were bought at the same time - during a sale back in '90 / '91. Dwight Twilley Band – Rock Yourself (“budget priced” best of - includes 2 previously unreleased tracks) This was bought used ($4.99) at the Mom and Pop store around 1995. Dwight Twilley – XXI (Best of) I bought this in Reno from Sam Goody back in 1996. Dwight Twilley – Between The Cracks – Volume 1 (A Collection Of Rarities) I had been searching for this for what seemed like forever - I finally found a copy at HMV in one of the local malls in 2000 / 2001.

Not too many on this end...but here goes...
Terence Trent D'arby - The Hardline According to Terence Trent D'Arby
I refuse to refer to him by his new name of Sananda or Bananda or whatever his name is these days. Pretty decent album, and "Sign Your Name" is one of my all time favourite songs.
TLC - CrazySexyCool
Admittedly, I only bought this album because it was big when I was in 8th grade, and everyone I knew owned it. Not a bad effort by them though.
That's about it, really...;D

Pam Tillis - "Country Legends" A great compilation I picked up about a year ago. I've loved Pam Tillis since I was a kid.
Justin Timberlake - "Justified" I was really excited about this new Justin Timberlake album...until I heard the first single. It's CRAP compared to the first CD.
TLC - "Now and Forever - The Hits" A greatest hits set I picked up. Had some stuff on here I wasn't familiar with.
"Totally Hits" This first volume actually has some pretty good stuff on it.
Tanya Tucker - "20 Greatest Hits" Yeah, I know. I have a lot of greatest hits compilations.
Shania Twain - "Come On Over" Got this from my mom.

Adam, what? You mean you never opened that fine Shania CD I sent ya? LOL!
Well, here's my T's:
Talking Heads: Popular Favorites 1976-83, and 1984-92-Sand in the Vaseline--Bought at a garage sale.
Talking Heads: Stop Making Sense--Don't remember where I got it.
Tapestry Revisited: A Tribute to Carole King--Bought it new a long time ago.
T.A.T.U.--200 KM/H in the Wrong Lane--Bought it at a garage sale about 2 weeks ago. Never played it.
James Taylor: Greatest Hits and New Moon Shine--Both Goodwill buys.
Tears For Fears: Tears Roll Down-Greatest Hits 82-92--Goodwill buy. Never a huge fan of theirs, so this CD will do just fine.
Technotronic: Trip on This-The Remixes--This has a "Used" sticker on it from a record store, so I guess that's where it came from.
Susan Tedeschi: Better Days and Just Won't Burn--I LOVE this gal. Mike bought me these one year for Christmas. I need to get more by her.
10,000 Maniacs: MTV Unplugged--Garage sale buy for 50¢. Don't think I ever played it.
The Thing Called Love Soundtrack--This was a "cutout", so I probably didn't pay much for it, but I don't remember where I got it.
Third Eye Blind: S/T--Used to listen to this all the time. Might have bought it new.
Marlo Thomas and Friends: Thanks and Giving All Year Long--A recent garage sale find. It has people like Sheryl Crow and Amy Grant on it, so I had to buy it.
George Thorogood and the Destoryers: The Baddest--Not sure where I got this, but it's a cool cd.
Three Dog Night: The Complete Hit Singles--I was always a big fan of 3DN. I should have more by them.
3 Doors Down: The Better Life--Bought this at the Goodwill. I like it a lot.
Threesome Soundtrack: Just bought it recently at the Goodwill.
Pam Tillis: Greatest Hits--I think a garage sale buy.
Justin Timberlake: Justified--Just bought this on Friday at a garage sale. I'm only 4 years behind. LOL!
TLC: Crazy Sexy Cool and Ooohhh On the TLC Tip--Bought these used at a Hastings when they were going out of business.
Toto: Past to Present-1977-1990, and A Rock and Roll Band--Garage sale buys.
Touched By an Angel Soundtrack: Goodwill buy. Lots of good songs on here, by Wynonna, Martina, Amy Grant...
The Tractors: S/T--Mike loved these guys, so I think we bought this new.
Traffic: Best Of--Bought not too long ago at the Goodwill.
Traveling Wilburys: Vol. 1 and Vol. 3--Don't remember where I got these, but I've had 'em forever.
Randy Travis: This Is Me--Bought at that Hastings going out of business sale.
Trio: Da Da Da--When the Volkswagon commercial with "Da Da Da" was all the rage, Mike went crazy for the song, so I had to find the CD on eBay and buy it for him.
Travis Tritt: Greatest Hits, It's All About to Change, No More Looking Over My Shoulder, and The Restless Kind--Used to like Travis quite a bit back in the day.
The Truth About Cats and Dogs Soundtrack--Hastings again.
Tanya Tucker: Greatest Hits and Tenessee Woman--I was a pretty big Tanya fan way back when. Haven't listened to her in forever.
KT Tunstall: Eye to the Telescope--I'm crazy for her song "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree", and was gonna go buy the CD just for that song. Turns out, I found it at the Goodwill shortly after its release, so I didn't have to pay full price for it. I do love a bargain! And I love this CD. I play it almost constantly.
Ike and Tina Turner--Finger Poppin', and In the Beginning--Library sales.
Tina Turner: All That Glitters (never opened), Foreign Affair, Greatest Hits, Live in Europe (2 disc set), Private Dancer, and Wildest Dreams--Big big Tina fan.
Shania Twain: Come on Over, Greatest Hits, Up, and The Woman In Me--Most of these were bought used. "Up" was a birthday present from Mike.
Twister Soundtrack: Bought it at a library sale. Never played it much.
Bonnie Tyler: Faster than the Speed of Night--I absolutely love this. Played the sh*t out of the vinyl album, so when I found the CD I had to have it. I still play it quite a bit in my car.

James Taylor - Greatest Hits
10,000 Maniacs - In My Tribe I used to play my cassette of this all the time. Got the CD from the library. Don't play it as much anymore but I still like it.
Third Eye Blind - Third Eye Blind Rarely listen to this, but when I do I'm reminded of the couple hits that prompted me to buy this.
Cyndi Thomson - My World Promising young country singer who quit the business after this CD. Word is she's coming back (I hope so!), but haven't heard any new music yet.
Touched By An Angel Soundtrack - when I learned that both Martina and Faith Hill had songs on this I had to get it.
Trick Pony - Trick Pony Their debut album - a lot of fun, uptempo rockin' country songs. They were highly touted when they came on the scene, but have faded.
Trick Pony - On A Mission Victims of the sophomore slump. This second CD was dull in my opinion compared to the first. I must not be the only one. It got little radio play and they have yet to recover.
Shania Twain: Shania Twain The Woman In Me Come On Over Up! Come On Over was my first country CD I ever purchased (actually at the time it was the cassette since I only had a cassette player in my car). I just loved it and thought, well maybe there's more country music I would like. So I went back and got her first two albums shortly after that. Funny thing is now I hardly listen to Shania. But I credit her with getting me interested in exploring country music further.
