Forgot this one last week! Not like I missed much though-I only have 2 CD's!
U2-Best of 1980-1990 Almost forgot this one! (In fact I forgot another one I got along with this back in the A's!) Coconuts was having a BIG sale and I got this (and that other one) for $5 each! This was maybe a year and a half ago.
UFO-Essential That title says it all. Do you like hard rock? No nonsense, no BS hard rock of the 70's? You can ONLY say you do if you own this one!! I first learned many of these from my cousin's band. I got this maybe in 95 or so. I don't remember where, I just remember I got Sly's collection along with it.
And that's it!

Short and sweet and straight to the point! U UFO – Essential UFO (CD – R) I remember chatting with Adam about the band and this collection. I was lucky enough to be able to find all the songs to download so I could make my own copy. I put it together I guess around 2003? Utopia – Deface The Music The guy who worked at the local Mom and Pop store, played this album for me when I stopped in one day for a visit. I liked it so much that I first tracked down a vinyl copy for a $1 in really nice shape but then I also wanted the album on CD. I found it at either A& B Sound or Future Shop, I think around 1994 / '95.

U2: Boy October War The Unforgettable Fire The Joshua Tree All That You Can't Leave Behind
UFO: Essential
Ultravox: The Singles
The United States Of America: s/t (Late 60's psychedelia. Very strange)
Urge Overkill: Saturation Exit The Dragon (Very overlooked 90's band that was more power-pop than alternative.)

My "U" collection is sorely lacking... Uncle Kracker: Double Wide--Bought this at a garage sale for 2 bucks. Not a bad CD. Until the End of the World Soundtrack--Not sure where I got this. Might have listened to it once or twice. Various artists, including Elvis Costello, U2, REM, Patti Smith... That's it! Sad, ain't it?

I still have quite a few of these yet to catch up on. I'll begin here and work back to M, which is where I left off I think.
My U artist collection is pretty small though:
UFO: The Essential UFO I first became acquainted with this group through the INSANE list. I heard some of the tracks on the Music Choice Classic Rock channel and liked those, and later got the collection.

Carrie Underwood - Some Hearts She may have gained her fame on American Idol, but no doubt the girl can sing! This definitely leans toward the pop side of country-pop but she's doing quite well in the country industry.
Keith Urban (everything he's recorded!) 1991 - This is his first Australian solo album. It leans a little toward pop, actually. After becoming a big Keith fan I had to go back and get this one. In The Ranch - The Ranch was his band before launching his solo career in the U.S. This album was re-released in the U.S. after he started becoming so popular here. Keith Urban - His solo debut album in the U.S. The first time I saw him live was when he opened for Martina in 2000 right when this album had come out. I didn't even know who he was then...look at him now! Golden Road - This one cemented his place in country music. Be Here - His most recent (until Nov. 7, 2006 gets here!!) Great album.

This is a cool idea. Too bad I'm starting at 'U' Okay, for my U's..... Urge Overkill - Saturation- I really liked this album (notice the past tense? I haven't played it in years) Uriah Heep - Salisbury- fav "High Priestess" Uriah Heep - Demons and Wizards- favs "Circle of Hands" and "The Wizard" Uriah Heep - The Magician's Birthday- favs "Tales," "Sweet Lorraine" and "Title track" Uriah Heep - Sweet Freedom- fav "Stealin'" Uriah Heep - Live in Europe 1979- not that great of a live album. Doesn't help that David Bryon and Gary Thain were no longer with the band. The Used - The UsedThe Used - In Love and Death- awesome cover of Queen's "Under Pressure" Underworld - Second Toughest in the Infants- really good electronic/tech album Usher - Confessions- fav "Burn" Ugly Kid Joe - As Ugly as they Wanna Be- 1st album feat. original version of "Everything About You" Ugly Kid Joe - America's Least WantedUgly Kid Joe - Motel CaliforniaUnion - Union- band that feat. Bruce Kulick (KISS) & John Corabi (The Scream, Motley Crue) I think that's it.
