WOW, is this a post actually started by me?? Been a LONG time! But at Kathyb's nagging-er-encouragment (J/K Kath!!), I thought we'd finish out this feature!

Especially because I've been listening to a lot of VH this week! (After all, they're going in the Hall Monday!)


Richie Valens-Very Best of

Actually, this is Bekki's! I think she wanted the song Donna, but she really liked the movie La Bamba. I asked my dad to get her just a compilation with Donna for Christmas one year, and he found a collection. I was cool with it though, as it contains Ooh My Head! Not sure what year it was-maybe 99?

Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons-Anthology

This is the single disc collection from Rhino, which for my needs, is pretty complete. Lots of good ones on here, including their 2 70's comeback songs. I know I bought this used at the local joint. Not sure of the year. Maybe 99 or 2000.

Van Halen

This was a just a spontaneously purchase by Bekki from Target for me. It was like $9.99 and she knew I had no VH on disc at the time. This was probably 2000.

Van Halen-II
I can't remember when or the circumstances behind this, I just know I love the album-more than the debut-and it was time to upgrade.

Van Halen-1984

I remember I bought this at Music Warehouse (I remember the place, but not sure of the name) when I think I had credit at the store. This actually may have been my first VH on CD now that I think about it, maybe 97 or 98. I do know I also got the first Spice Girls CD because Bekki didn't mind the songs-it's still in the plastic.

Van Halen-For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge
Ok, THIS was my first VH CD-those were my first of the CLASSIC, REAL VH. I remember I took my Grandma shopping at a mall and bought this, within a couple months of it's 91 release.

Van Halen-Live: Right Here, Right Now
Got this not too long after it's release, and I think it was at a store in Oak Park, one of the larger Chicago suburbs.

My brother-in-law may actually have had it first. I think Bekki gave it to me for Easter.

Van Halen-Greatest Hits Volume I
Can't remember where or when. I DO however remember where I was when I first heard Me Wise Magic, as I do Poundcake-I was in a garage both times.

Luther Vandross: One Night With You-- The Best of Love Vol. 2--This still has a garage sale sticker on it--$1.50.

Van Halen: For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge--Probably got this at a garage sale.

Van Halen: OU812--I think I bought this new cuz I loved "Finish What You Started".

Van Halen: Live Right Here Right Now--Bought this used for 3 bucks at an old Hastings store.

Vaughan Brothers: Family Style--Mike bought this, mainly for the song "Tick Tock".

Suzanne Vega: Nine Objects of Desire--Garage sale purchase for $1.00. Quite awhile ago.

View From the Top Soundtrack--Just bought this a couple of weeks ago at the Goodwill. It's got LeAnn Rimes, JoDee Messina, Sixpence None the Richer, among others.

Violent Femmes: Add It Up (1981-1993)--Bought this awhile back at a garage sale. I love the Femmes.

Violent Femmes: New Times--I've had this a long time. Don't remember where I got it.

Violent Femmes: Violent Femmes--Another garage sale find.

Vixen: Vixen--A Goodwill purchase from a few years back.

I have tons of compilation CD's I have listed under "Various Artists", but I'm not gonna post 'em, cuz it'd take me a year! LOL!

I bought this used for around $4.99 when the local Mom and Pop store was closing it's doors back around 1996. It was nice to finally add it to my collection.

Van Halen – Best Of Volume 1
I bought this brand new right after it was released in 1996.

Stevie Ray Vaughan – Texas Flood
I bought this new in the late 80's wanting to complete my SRV CD collection.

Bought it new during a sale in the late 80's.

I bought this in 1990 shortly after Stevie's tragic death. I had a hard time finding this at first, every copy seemed to be sold out - but I was lucky and managed to finally find one at Sam The Record Man's Downtown Vancouver location (the store is no longer in business)

Stevie Ray Vaughan – The Sky Is Crying
I bought this new in 1991 not long after it's release at one of our local chain stores.

Stevie Ray Vaughan – In The Beginning (Live Radio Broadcast – April 1, 1980)
I bought this one new back in 1992 shortly after the disc was released.

The Velvet Underground - Loaded
I bought this from a buddy of mine about a year ago, who had an extra copy. He thought I would like it. I'm not a big VU fan but this is a great album, that to me, is their most accessible.

Veruca Salt – Eight Arms To Hold You
The song Volcano Girls got major radio airplay here back in '97 - and I thought it was a surprisingly catchy power pop type of song. Once again, the buddy I bought the Velvets CD from had an extra copy of this - so I bought it a little over a year ago.

Gene Vincent – Screaming End - The Best of Gene Vincent & His Blue Caps.I've always enjoyed Be Bop a Lu La and Lotta Lovin. I originally wanted to buy the "Capitol Collectors Series" collection but I never did get around to it and the disc went out of print. So, I was very happy to discover that back in 1997 Razor and Tie were releasing this collection and I bought it new as soon as I could track down a copy.


My various artist CD's are in their own section , along with my Soundtracks and Christmas discs. Will I have the chance to list them?

(I have a love/hate thing with this band. I bought the CD's years ago, trying to see what the big deal was. Rolling Stone worships these guys, and says constantly how influential they were, yet I've never seen ANY big musician cite them as an influence. Whatever.... They really weren't that great.. Except for "Loaded", that's a really good album!)
