Let's see, well memories of High School immediately come flooding back when I look at this list. Many of these songs - such as Tom Petty's You Got Lucky, Alabama's The Closer You Get, Shame on The Moon by Bob Seger, Major Tom etc were recorded by myself from the Radio.A few of these, for example - Utopia's Feets Don't Fail Me Now and Zebra's Who Behind The Door (thanks to Yourself and Pete for that one although the group's name was familiar) were discovered in recent years. I recall seeing KISS' video for the first time on Friday Night Videos.

I remember adding the cassette of Yes' 90125 and the LP's Uh - Huh , Outside , Inside The Tubes, and Alpha by Asia to my collection. I've never been a huge U2 fan, but New Years Day is a good one.It's amazing how a large portion of these songs still sound as great today as they did at the time.

One last comment, I always liked Wonderin' by Neil Young - the video was great as well.I don't recall the album doing that well chart - wise but I just recently picked up a vinyl copy - and it's excellent.

Ah yes, 1983. The last year I was under 40!

It was during that period where I was still collecting 45s, but I wasn't listening to a whole lot of "new" music. I'm familiar with a lot of the songs on your list, Adam, but I believe that I became familiar with many later than '83. -- And the first time I heard Working Girl was after it was recommended by Adam or Ken - or maybe both.

Nothing on this list made my Top 250. But of all the songs on the list, my favorite might be Prince's 1999 -- and didn't that seem like a long time away when the song first came out.

XM Radio's 80s channel plays one of Casey Kasem's old American Top 40 shows every week, and yesterday's was a countdown from June 1983. Listening to it gave me a major nostalgia rush - hard to believe 24 years have passed since that time. Among the songs from your list that were featured on the show were She's A Beauty, Family Man and That's Love.
