Every summer, our local Parks & Recreation Department sponsors free concerts during Jun, Jul, & Aug. They usually provide a good mix of music (rock, blues, oldies, etc). Most are local bands, and we've always enjoyed them. Well this summer, we're getting some real winners. Saturday, Jun 4th is booked as an Evening With Sha Na Na. It's the middle day of a 3 day celebration of Manhattan (Kansas) 150th birthday. Our July 4th concert features Flash Cadillac, and the final concert on Aug 13th features Billy Dean. Should be a good summer of concerts.

Sounds cool! Hope Kathylovekitties gets to see this post! She'll want a review from you!
Billy Dean has been around 15 years! I only know his most recent song, Let Them Be Little, which is a great song! Are you gonna see him?

Last night was supposed to be our night to relive our past with a night with Sha Na Na. Somehow, we managed to fool Mother Nature in a major way. We had a tornado watch, a severe thunderstorm warning that lasted about three hours, a flash flood warning, large hail, heavy rain, & 60 mph wind. Needless to say, after surviving all that, the Sha Na Na concert was cancelled. We have heard that there was a weather cancellation clause written into the contract, so we are hopeful of a Sha Na Na concert later this summer. Sorry guys, no review today.
