There is a suburb out here called Naperville that is famous for it's annual Ribfest. As you can tell from the title, it features numerous rib vendors all selling their stuff. (And I LOVE ribs!)
Anyway, not only are the ribs good, but they always have good artists playing.
In the past you have heard me report that I have seen quite a few good acts there: Pat Benatar, America, 38 Special, Peter Frampton, Eddie Money, Rick Springfield.
This year is no exception.
On Saturday night, the headliner is REO Speedwagon!
On Sunday, Better Than Ezra and Sister Hazel are playing.
On Monday is the Doobie Brothers!
And on Tuesday, it's Charlie Daniels. (He's playing another local fest this weekend too, in Arlington Heights. Railyn, did you know about these?)
Now that's just the main stage. There is also a smaller stage under a tent that will feature these acts:
Saturday-Elvin Bishop
Sunday-Blood, Sweat & Tears and Chuck Negron (ironically replacing Three Dog Night-Corey & Danny-who had to cancel)
Tuesday-Foghat
The admission is $8. That's up from $5 a few years back, but when you think you are seeing these once major acts, that isn't bad! Anyway, my intent is to go to see REO with a buddy of mine and then go Monday to the Doobies with my brother. If all pans out, I'll have a report next week!

Quite a lineup of oldtime acts! I'm nowhere near there, but if I were, I'd want to check out Charlie Daniels & Elvin Bishop. have fun!

When we went to IL back in March, we stayed at the green-roofed Red Roof Inn in Naperville.
