I'll never forget hearing the news that George was going to be releasing a new album - Yes! - Loved Got My Mind Set on You the minute I heard it . It was also nice to see old buddies Ringo and Eric helping out as well. Bought the album very soon after it was released. Upgraded to CD years ago . It's a real shame that the album isn't currently available (at least that's what I understand I could be wrong). Faves: When We Was Fab, Devil's Radio , This Is Love , Got My Mind Set On You , That's What it Takes , Fish on The Sand and Wreck of The Hesperus.

Oh man, this one takes me back to getting my license and my first car! January of 88. I got this on cassette, and Yes' Big Generator on vinyl. This was one of my earliest non-compilation cassettes, so it was cool getting to know all new songs.
Just like Ken, I was excited for new George music. Hell, the world was! I remember it being a big deal! George scored big with Got My Mind Set on You. And with that, holds the distinction of being the Beatle with the first and last solo number 1!
I remember my dad somehow knowing Devil's Radio before me! LOL! I thought When We Was Fab was TOO cool. I have that and BOTH versions of Got My Mind on video tape. And after George died, I got This is Love off VH-1.
As Ken said, Ringo and Eric helped out, but so did Elton and Gary Wright.
I am also hoping for a re-issue, with bonus tracks (his singles at the time had non-LP B sides). And the Wilbury albums too! How about a box set??

Just like Adam, I got my licence and first car at around the same time (actually December 14, 1987), in my junior year of High School. It was so cool to see a Beatle on the charts again, even more incredible to see George Harrison in the #1 spot (the last Beatle-related single to hit #1).
I remember reading the Rolling Stone article the previous summer about the upcoming album, he mentioned doing a video to "help get the record played a bit". After releasing flops like "Gone Troppo", NO ONE had a CLUE how big this album would be!

I was thrilled for George when 'Got My Mind Set on You' became number one on the Billboard charts. This album is definitely one of his finest. I'm hoping they re-release it on CD along with some of his older Dark Horse titles.

George hadn't had a hit album in a while, but he made up for it with this one. It's excellent! 'When We Was Fab' is terrific, with a definite 'Beatlesque' quality. I've never seen the videos of any of these songs, but I imagine they are great! Hopefully VH-1 or VH-1 Classic will air them again sometime.

One of the 80's best solo Beatle albums. Especially like the 2 top 40 hits, "Fab" got virtually no top 40 airplay in the Syracuse area.

But George's work on this album is outstanding, truly among the finest of his career.

I remember hearing 'When We Was Fab' a few times on the top 40 station in my area back then, but considering the success of the single, its airplay was surprisingly limited. 'Got My Mind Set On You' got quite a bit of airplay, though.

What a fine album this is! I remember buying this CD, and a gal that I was hanging around with at the time really wanted to hear it, so she came over to my house; we ordered a pizza; had a couple of drinks; and listened to the CD. That was an enjoyable night!

This was a good album by George, not his best but a good one. I think I bought the album simply because I liked the video of Got My Mind Set On You. Got this one on vinyl, but truth be told, I haven't listened to it in years. Favorites: Cloud 9, Just for Today, When We Was Fab, Got My Mind Set on You.
