Hi Dawn.
This album has the nostalgia anthem on it, Old Days. I'm not so sure about this album though. I've got it, but I don't think I've listen to it much. The two of the three hit were good (Old Days & Harry Truman) and the other hit was only ok (Brand New Love Affair). Didn't really care for the album cuts much. A little disappointing over all.

Hi Dawn - I don't own the album either , so the only songs I know are Old Days (love it, of course) and I've heard Harry Truman a couple of times.

Hi dodger! The single releases from this album are excellent, but like you, I was a little disappointed with some of the album cuts. Overall, it's a good album, IMO, but not quite on a par with their earlier ones.

I absolutely agree about 'Old Days' - I've always loved it. I don't remember hearing 'Harry Truman' at all back when it was popular, though - I think I heard it for the first time around 1990.

I know the three songs that are on the box set. Old Days is a classic, to be sure. Still love it. But overall, this album was a step down in quality from their earlier releases.
Harry Truman is decent, but sort of a novelty song.
And I love Terry Kath, but Brand New Love Affair does nothing for me.

I've heard this album refered to as their "heavy metal" album, but I don't hear it..
It was definately the beginning of the end for the band. It's not a bad album overall, but nowhere near the quality of the seven albums that preceeded it.
Personlly, my favorite cut here is "Oh, Thank You Great Spirit".

I remember it took me a little while to warm up to it, but I really like it now. But I agree, this album doesn't have the consistency that, say, Chicago VII has.

That's interesting about this album being called their "heavy metal" album - I hadn't known that. Like you, I don't hear it. I think some of the earlier albums had more of an "edge" than this one does.
