I actually have this on vinyl, picked it up so I would have the Threshold intro to Jet Airliner. I guess I never realized how much was on here!
Swingtown is one of Steve's better songs. I know Winter Time and True Fine Love were on the greatest hits (I think) and I have heard The Stake is a good one. I'll have to give em a listen!

Love this one! Another album I listened to all the time up in my room when I was a kid. LOL! Winter Time is a great song. So pretty! True Fine Love is a fun song to sing along to. I really enjoy every song on here. Lotsa memories of my youth!

So Good! Bought the 45's of Swingtown , Jet Airliner and Jungle Love back in '77 / '78 then bought the LP used sometime around '79 or '80. Love The cover art! Big fan of Steve's. Faves - including those above are: Wintertime , The Stake , True Fine Love and Sacrifice.
FYI -Everyone probably already knows this, but I'll add it anyway. On The LP Steve sings "Funky Sh*t Goin Down in The City" on the 45 and Greatest Hits CD the line was changed to "Funky Kicks Goin' Down in The City"

It's not as well known as Fly Like an Eagle, but there are a lot of excellent tracks on it! 'Swingtown' has been a favorite of mine for many years - love it! Yes, 'Winter Time' and 'True Fine Love' are both on the greatest hits, as is 'The Stake'. Great songs!

I really enjoy every song on here. Lotsa memories of my youth! 'Winter Time' is a song I've really grown to love. It has such a wonderful, mellow quality to it. 'Wish Upon a Star' is nice, too. The single cuts like 'Swingtown' and 'Jungle Love' really bring back a lot of memories for me also!

As I mentioned to Sat, I think this is his best album. That's true about 'Jet Airliner'! I remember several singles were edited in the 70's - Blondie's 'Heart of Glass' and Pink Floyd's 'Money' are two more that come to mind.

Of the tracks I have heard, faves are: Jet Airliner Swingtown Jungle Love If you enjoy Steve's music, I would definitely recommend this one. The three single releases you mentioned are all great, and there are some very strong album tracks also, such as 'Winter Time' and 'The Stake'. An excellent album all around!

Hi Dawn -
Every band has that one album where they put it all together and produce one great album. This was Steve Miller's album. Everything just worked right on this one. He rocked (Jet Airliner & Swingtown) and he slowed it down (True Fine Love). Great singles & great album tracks. Favorites (not already mentioned) Jungle Love, Winter Time, Wish Upon a Star, Babes in the Wood, The Stake.

I like his other work such as Fly Like an Eagle, but as you mentioned, I think this album is where it all came together for him. Thanks again for suggesting it!
