Another strong album by Steve Miller. Not as good as Book of Dreams (imo), but a good album. Three top 40s and some really good album cuts. The Space Intro is a great lead in to the whole album. Rock 'N' is probably my favorite of the three top 40s. You Send Me is a nice cover of the Sam Cooke classic. Wild Mountain Honey, Dance Dance Dance, & Blue Odyssey add to an impressive array of music. Have it on vinyl. Great Album.

I don't have the album , but I remember my cousin having a copy of it on vinyl and listening to it as a kid . I have the hits on CD (from Steve's Greatest Hits) Mercury Blues (Great cover!) on cassette , as well as the 45 of Rock "N" Me.
Love the space intro to Fly Like An Eagle -I remember the first time I heard it - wow!
A very strong record
Faves - Fly Like An Eagle , Serenade , Wild Montain Honey, Take The Money And Run , Mercury Blues and Dance Dance Dance

Great choice--should be in my top 500 albums, as well as two of the songs in my CRAZY top 750! Practically refuse to hear the single edit of "Eagle"--must be heard w/ the space intro right up through to where the "beeps" end. But like any Steve Miller Band album, it sounds great in its entirety--I've had the CD for about 5 years now. Not a bad tune on there!

Very similiar to the other Steve Miller album you did in that there are 3 big hits that I know, with one of them having an intro that was left off the greatest hits. Plus a couple others that made the GH album that I don't know.
Really sick of the title cut, but if I'm gonna hear it, I wanna hear it with Space Intro. Rock 'N Me is good, but I am a little tired of it. Take the Money and Run is the best here. Love the clapping parts.
Wild Mountain Honey and (I believe) Dance, Dance, Dance are on the GH, but I have never heard em.

It's not quite up there with Book of Dreams, but it's pretty close. 'Rock N Me' has always been one of my favorite Steve Miller songs. I love the guitar work on it!

As dodger wrote, it's a great introduction to the whole album. I've loved the synthesizer at the end of 'Fly Like an Eagle' ever since I was a kid. Great title track!

I agree with you about 'Fly Like an Eagle' - I don't particularly care for the edited version. Strangely, I remember hearing it back in 1976-77 without the 'Space Intro', but with the synthesizer and beeps at the end. I'm not sure what version the radio station was playing - it was almost like a mix of the two.

His Greatest Hits '74-'78 is great, but I wish they would have included the intros with the songs. 'Take the Money and Run' is a really good tune. For some reason, both the classic rock and the oldies stations around here don't seem to play it as often as some of his other songs.

Another 30th Anniversary CD I just got recently. I've really taken to "Serenade", "dance Dance Dance" and "Mercury Blues"
