Definitely a rock classic. My favorites are Who'll Stop The Rain, Lookin' Out My Back Door, Travelin' Band, Up Around The Bend and Long As I Can See The Light. It's astounding to me that CCR never had a #1 song.

Wow, I've had some good suggestions!  Some of my fave CCR singles on here (Travelin' Band, Up Around the Bend), along with great covers (My Baby Left Me, Before You Accuse Me). Like JP said, so weird they had no number 1's! But they had like 600 number 2's! |

This is one fine album! I have it on vinyl every song is fantastic  The band were on a roll. Love their choice of covers (My Baby Left Me ,Before You Accuse Me and Ooby Dooby - how cool!) .Stu Cook and Doug Clifford were one great rhythm section. I remember my cousin and I listening to I Heard it Through The Grapevine over and over back in the 80's. Other Faves include - Ramble Tamble , Who'll Stop The Rain , Run Through The Jungle ( we had the 45 in the house when I was little - I though the intro was very freaky LOL , Travelin' Band (oh Yeah! - the band really rocks on this one! , and Up Around The Bend. |

They were definitely at their creative and artistic peak at this point. They were unable to top it!!
"Green River" would be my second favorite CCR album

Definitely a rock classic. My favorites are Who'll Stop The Rain, Lookin' Out My Back Door, Travelin' Band, Up Around The Bend and Long As I Can See The Light. It's astounding to me that CCR never had a #1 song. That's always surprised me too, JP. Their songs have held up much better than some of the songs that kept them out of the top spot. Six of the cuts on this album get regular play on the local oldies stations - that's very impressive! |
