Don't own it, but based on the first three songs, it's a good one! Also know Demolition Man and remember Grace Jones doing a horrible cover of it.
I don't know, it always seemed like the Police's album tracks were too political or serious or something.
Love tracks 2 & 3.

I don't own the album either but my oldest brother has it - he bought it when it came out. I do have the first three songs on cassette though - I remember I had originally recorded Spirits in The Material World off the radio. Those three are the only songs I'm familiar with.
Faves - Invisible Sun , Spirits in The Material World and Every Little Thing She Does is Magic.

I own it! Not my favorite album by them, but very strong nonetheless.
Invisible Sun is my favorite cut, Omegaman second. Some of the songs I'd need to play the album to remember them.

Good choice! I like this just as much as Synchronicity, but no so much as Zenyatta Mendotta. In addition to the first 3 songs and Demolition Man, I also know "Secret Journey", which was a US HOT 100 single, reaching #46--I heard it more often on a top 40 station than the 2 rock stations at home! Hmmm...

This is a really good album, and was the first one of theirs I ever bought. The first three tracks are my favorites, especially 'Spirits in the Material World'. I agree, that Grace Jones cover is just terrible - what on earth was she thinking when she recorded that one?

I think I might have part of 'Every Little Thing' on a cassette I taped off the radio back in early 1982. I wish I'd kept more of those cassettes!

'Invisible Sun' is a great track - it has a dark, mysterious quality to it that I've always liked. 'Omegaman' is good as well. It had been a while since I'd heard this album, so I had to refresh my memory on a few of the tracks also!

Hmmm... 'Secret Journey' is another good song - that's surprising that it only reached #46 on the charts. I think I may have heard it on the radio back then as well, probably on an AOR station that I used to listen to a lot back in 1982-83.

Glad to help, Dawn. Haven't listened to this one for awhile. Every Little Thing has always been my favorite Police song. Thanks again, JP - great suggestion! As I mentioned to Pete, it had been some time since I'd heard it myself, but hearing those songs again has brought back a lot of memories of my teen years.

It looks like I'm not the only Police fan here. ;D "Spirits" and "Every Little Thing" are 2 all-time faves of mine! I always liked "Invisible Sun," even before I knew the lyrics (LOL). "One World" is fun to listen to, and "Demolition Man" just... plain... kicks... ass!
