Never owned it, but it is a classic. Even Alice Cooper said he owned it and loved it!
Lots of great singles, my fave being If I Can't Have You.
Never heard Boogie Shoes until it was included in the movie Detroit Rock City a few years back. Good tune.

I picked up a copy of this a few years ago , in very nice shape for 2 dollars - what a deal!
I really liked Night Fever when it came out - still like to listen to it every so often. I remember a few of the kids in my class doing a dance routine to the song back in '78 - I still remember sitting in the gym watching them rehearse. We never had the album in the house but I think my neighbor owned a copy.
Faves - Night Fever , Boogie Shoes , Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love , Jive Talkin' - bought the 45 back in '75 , A Fifth of Beethoven and Disco Infreno.

What a great album! No less than 10 hit singles! The essential disco collection! Despite that, it was only recently that I finally saw the movie! Describes MY life in the mid 90's, always going out dancing in the Boston underground clubs every Saturday night.. then I became the DJ and my dancing days we're over.

Probably the essential soundtrack of the late 70s. Everyone seemed to feel the need to own it. Never owned the vinyl version, but got a used CD version for about eight bucks a few weeks ago. Although I quickly tired of the disco craze, this album did have so many hit singles. And although the 70s are more than just disco, this one started the craze. Favorites: Stayin' Alive, Night Fever, If I Can't Have You, A Fifth of Beethoven, Boogie Shoes, Disco Inferno.

You are right, it is definitely a classic, and ‘If I Can’t Have You’ has been a favorite of mine for many years. I don’t remember hearing ‘Boogie Shoes’ on the radio as often as many of the other hits back then, but I agree, it is a good tune.

I bought my copy of this LP in a used record store back in the mid-to-late 80’s. That was during the time when not many people were listening to disco music, and I remember they had several copies in there, for only a dollar or two each! I couldn’t believe it! I have a similar memory of ‘Night Fever’, Ken! I remember the kids in the class ahead of ours did a dance routine similar to "The Hustle" to this song for a school program, and some of us younger kids wanted to learn it, too! After 25 years, I can still do those dance moves!

I’ve seen different parts of this movie several times, especially the beginning, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen it completely through. It looks really interesting, though, and I hope to pick it up on DVD one of these days. That’s pretty cool about the parallels to your life back in the 90’s!

There are definitely some great songs on this album, many of which I had the 45s of back in the day (and still do). I remember I had to wait a while to get the ‘Stayin’ Alive’ single back in early 1978, because the store was all sold out of them! It’s an excellent song, as are the other songs you mentioned.
