I have a book that listed "Bizarre Last Records" which were mostly bizarre because of the song titles.
But at least two were ironic because of the pictures on the cover.
Lynyrd Skynyrd's last original lineup album, Street Survivors, showed the group engulfed in flames on the cover. Once the plane went down, the album was pulled and re-released without the fire.
On Moonie's last album with the Who, Who Are You, he is sitting in a chair which has "not to be taken away" stenciled on it.
I came up with a few more.
Collective Soul-Their 2001 Greatest Hits had a picture inside of the boys in suits and ties, with coffee mugs in an office. Right next to them is a picture of the same office enfulfed in flames. (Look at the year. That picture was bad timing.)
Martina's Greatest Hits came out on 9-18-01. On the cover, she is wearing a shirt with an American Flag on it. The cover art had been shot well before 9/11, but it was PERFECT timing, considering the events one week before.
Any others?

One that comes to mind - and I hope this counts (??) is the poster that's included with KISS' 1980 album Unmasked.
It's the same picture used in the second to last panel of the cartoon strip on the front cover showing the band "unmasking" EXCEPT if you look closely, the poster art has been slighly altered and Peter Criss is winking at you .
This was a reference to the fact that Peter was no longer in the band - he had issued a statement in May of ' 80 just before the release of the album that he was leaving the group.
