Just had to post about a cool garage sale purchase this weekend. My mom and I were at a garage sale this past Friday, and the lady having the sale had, among other items of course, several DVDs for sale, most of them sealed. She had quite a few box sets of old TV shows, such as Bewitched, Home Improvement, even a couple of old British TV shows which I had never heard of. LOL! Anyway, she was asking anywhere from $15.00 on up to $30.00 for the box sets. A little too steep for me to spend at a garage sale, even if they were sealed. So, my mom and I were browsing, and my mom happened to pick up and look at a sealed DVD set of "The Merv Griffin Show: 40 Most Interesting People of Our Time". She was saying it sounded good, but she didn't want to pay $20.00 for it, so she put it back down. The lady from the sale came over to me and said if my mom was interested in the set, she could have it for 5 bucks. And I'm thinking to myself, "YES, she's interested!" LOL! So I told my mom, and she bought it from the lady for indeed, 5 bucks! Quite a deal. My mom will eventually watch it and then give it to me to watch. It sounds quite good. There are people such as Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Christopher Reeve, Jane Fonda, Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, Richard Pryor, etc. It'll be interesting to see those people in their "early days". I just wish my mom would have picked up more DVDs and looked at 'em. Maybe the lady would have given her more deals! Of course, I picked up a few DVDs myself to look at, but the lady never said I could have them for any less. LOL!
