Tonight I'll Be Watching "Super Stars of the Seventies and Sunday I plan to watch Peter, Paul and Mary"
Sadly, I forgot about, and therefore missed all but the last half hour of the Andy Willims Duets special.
And as usual hre is at least on PBS music special being shown in other parts of the count but not here. This one features music of the 60s. (mc dornan tells me that Chad and Jemy and HrmansHermitts, among others, are on it.)It loos like this will be anothe specal I must add to my'gotta buythe DVD colection".
Well, I had more to say, but I am getting REALLY tired...
(And it would help a LOT had my vcr not stopped working--especially since it was just purchased a couple of months ago!! *Lesson learned: "Money saved" isn't always really money saved*)

Hi Rali I saw the 60's reunion special and it was very , very good Chad and Jeremy were excellent - it was the first time they had performed together in 20 years. Tommy James was also great! performing Mony Mony, Crimson and Clover and also Crystal Blue Persuasion If my memory is correct - I was impressed.

(*Mutters unkind thing under breath at local PBS station*) Not only have they not played this (And so far it's not even on the upcoming schedule), but the only reason I was able to see the British Invasion Special my friends in San Diego (And elsewhere) saw a couple of years ago was because--you guessed it--I bought the DVD (Off Ebay). But at least I'm enjoying their special on Peggy Lee. Such a talent! And thank YOU for reading and posting!!! I really do appreciate it!

Howdy Rali! I forgot about P P & M , so I only saw the last 20 minutes.
I always know it's gonna be pledge time when I look at the cable listings and think, hmm there's a bunch of good-sounding shows coming up!

(I appreciate it! ;D) I saw it, made a pledge and got the two DVDs in the mail the other day!! ;D In late 2002 they recorded a show in Pittsburgh called Rhythm Love & Soul which featured artists like Lou Rawls, Edwin Starr, Carl Carlton, Billy Paul, Freda Payne etc. For a pledge of $180.00 they offered the two DVD set which I got. None of disc two was shown on tv. Well, they sent me a postcard telling me about this new show and I couldn't wait. To my dismay they did not offer the two dvds alone. In order to get both dvds you also had to get a 4cd box set for a pledge of $250.00. Well, I have all that music already so I sent an e-mail asking if there was any way I could get the DVDs by themselves. What a shock when I heard back and they said YES!! They charged me $170.00 for this set. To me it's well worth the money. This music is the greatest!! Which performances did you like the best? I think Maxine Nightingale put on the best performance and she was having a blast. Tavares was really good too! Check this link out!! www.njn.net/about/pressroom/mymusic/index.html

I thought Maxine Nightengale was great, but I think my favorite performance was the medley by The Stylistics. Incidentally my daughters were very impressed with how young she looked. LOL! Btw, my favorite performance on Rhthym Love and Soul was Edwin Starr singing 25 Miles ;D (Sorry it took me so long to reply)

I don't know what happened to the original guy. Back in '94 there was a 70s special on NBC and he was there. Maxine does look good for her age...whatever that may be!! My fave on the Rhythm, Love & Soul was Lou Rawls....You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine. No problem on the reply time. LOL
