I was flipping channels last night, and caught the PBS show "Soundstage". Jewel was the featured performer. I've always enjoyed her music, but I don't think I've ever seen her live in any kind of concert setting. I have to say I was very impressed. The first half of the show was just her with her guitar. Very acoustic, very intimate. The second half she performed with her band, and she rocked a little harder. The last song she sang featured her yodelling skills. I guess as far as yodellers go, she's probably one of the best I've heard. LOL! Her encore song was an accapella version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Very nice rendition. Overall, the performance was very enjoyable. I don't know if PBS will air the show again anytime soon, but if you get a chance, and if you're even just a casual fan of Jewel, check it out!

That does sound interesting - I'll check the listings for the PBS stations here and see when it's airing next. She was on American Idol a few weeks ago as a guest judge.

Jewel's got an interesting voice. Kind of folksy-bluesy. The concert was quite good. Yeah, I saw her on American Idol. She's also hosting "Nashville Star" this season. |

I love Jewel. I found the Soundstage episode completely by accident, and luckily I didn't miss any of it. She looked stunning! And I love her singing, she just melts me. I watched this entire season of "Nashville Star" just to see her.  |

It seems to be totally random as to when a certain PBS station will air these Soundstage performances. I guess each local station does their own schedule. I've been checking my PBS listings for the Lee Ann Womack Soundstage which is another recent one. But I haven't seen that one or the Jewel one in the listings. I'd be interested in seeing Jewel too!
