ACM's are on tonight! Any predictions??

I'm all excited because Martina is up for Female of the Year (OF COURSE!!) AND is performing!!

Actually there are quite a number of performers tonight.

How about some predictions?

Female of the Year:

Terri Clark
Faith Hill
Martina McBride
Shania Twain
Lee Ann Womack

In all honesty, looking at in objectively, NO ONE else had the year Martina did! Terri Clark had a comeback, but it was small. Lee Ann's album bombed, and Shania and Faith are almost PURE pop. I think Martina should get her second award in a row. Hopefully they won't pick one of the two media darlings.

Kenny Chesney
Alan Jackson
Toby Keith
Tim McGraw
George Strait

Toby's got this one sown up. He was America's country hero of the last year.

Duo:
Brooks & Dunn
Hometown News
Montgomery Gentry

I don't see anyone unseating Brooks and Dunn. (Hometown News?? WTF???)

This will be the test. Can the Dixies overcome the backlash? I think MAYBE. If not, it'll be Lonestar. But I really still am thinking Dixies.

Hopefully Martina will win Female of the Year tonight!! I'm not too familiar with the newer artists, but I'll have a go at predicting some of the more established acts.

Female Artist of the Year:

I'd give the nod to Martina as well. Faith is a possibility, but as you say, she seems to be moving further and further away from country and into pop.

Male Artist of the Year:

I've gotta go with Toby Keith - his 'Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue' was huge this past year.

Duo:

I think it will be close between Montgomery Gentry and Brooks and Dunn. I'll go with Montgomery Gentry.

Group:

This is a tough one to predict. Had it not been for the George Bush incident, the Dixies would have been a shoo-in. They still might win, but I give the edge to Lonestar, mainly because the ACM might view them as the "safer" choice.

Entertainer of the Year:

I'm going with Alan Jackson, although Toby Keith is a strong contender as well.

Album of the Year:

Toby Keith, although it could very possibly go to Alan Jackson.

Song of the Year:

'Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue' - Toby Keith, definitely.
