Ok, I have a reason for asking this. I was just watching Entertainment Tonight or something, and they were reviewing the show.
They said that there was "breathtaking performances from artists from Shania Twain to Leann Rimes."
Now Shania's performance was average at best. Ok song, but with no heart or effort put into the performance. And Leann's was ACTUALLY a yodel!
Of course my complaint is the lack of acknowledgment of Martina, whose performance WAS truly breathtaking, and the only performance I remember seeing getting a standing ovation!
So I am extatic that the audience recognized her good job, I just wish the TV shows would!
Your thoughts on the other performers?

There was only one breathtaking performance that I saw, and that was Martina McBride's. She was spectacular, and got such a wonderful response from the audience!
Next to Martina, the performance I enjoyed most was Wynonna Judd's. Every time I've seen her perform, she's really put her heart into the songs.
I didn't enjoy Shania's performance at all. It could have just been the song, but her voice was all over the place, as though she couldn't hold any of the notes for very long. And I agree, there didn't seem to be much heart in it. Watching her last night, it was hard to believe she was Entertainer of the Year just a few years ago.

I only saw bits and pieces of the show. Didn't see Martina, didn't see Shania, didn't see LeeAnn Rimes. I did see most of the Wynonna performance. Thought she was excellent. One thing though--did she ever even play the guitar she had on her lap? I didn't see the beginning of the song, but what I saw of her performance, she never even touched the guitar. Why bother to have it? LOL!
