Great! I get to do Part 1 before I leave. Group 1: It ain't gonna rain no mo'-Wendell Hall Group 2: Der fuhrer's face-Spike Jones (Heil ptzzzz, heil ptzzzz!!) Group 3: Woody woodpecker-Kay Kyser Group 4: St. George & the dragonet-Stan Freberg (This was a tough one. I love em both!) Group 5: Purple people eater-Sheb Wooley (Another tough one. But I went with the guy aka Ben Colder) Group 6: Seven little girls sitting in the back seat-Paul Evans (Keep your snoopy eyes on the road ahead) Group 7: Hot rod Lincoln-Johnny Bond (Betcha most people think that Commander Cody had the original. Bond was twelve years earlier. -- But Charlie Ryan preceded HIM by a coupla months, AND Tiny Hill did it 9 years before THAT.) Group 8: My boomerang won't come back-Charlie Drake (boom wokka choya wokka) Group 9: Beans in my ears-Serendipity Singers (Back on ML, I included this in a list of "banned songs" - people were afraid that kids would listen to iit and stick beans in their ears.) Group 10: They're coming to take me away, ha-ha!-Napoleon XIV (you mangy mutt!) Group 11: Gitarzan-Ray Stevens (Git it, Git it, Git it.) Group 12: Ajax liquor store-Hudson & Landry Group 13: Mr. Jaws- D-I-C-K-I-E Goodman Group 14: Short people-Randy Newman (I love King Tut, but I'm casting this as a protest vote against all those idiots who thought that Randy Newman was serious) Group 15: Bruce-Rick Springfield Group 16: pass (unfamiliar with both) Great list, Dave!!

Group 1: It ain't gonna rain no mo'-Wendell Hall Group 2: Mairzy doats-Merry Macs "And little lambs ski-divey" (At least that's what *used* to think they were singing;) Group 3: Peter Cottontail-Gene Autry Group 4: St. George & the dragonet-Stan Freberg (Place Andy elsewhere and I'll vote for him. ) Group 5: Purple people eater-Sheb Wooley VS. Beep beep-Playmates: Gee. Thanks! I love 'em both! Ok, "Eater" gets my vote because of his (The Eater's) voice...(But I hated voting against "Beep Beep") Group 6: Seven little girls sitting in the back seat-Paul Evans Group 7: Hot rod Lincoln-Johnny Bond Group 8: I HAVE to vote for... On top of spaghetti-Tom Glazer-- We had this record when I was a little girl (At least I'm pretty sure we did: I remember hearing it around our house quite a bit when I was around 3 or 4 years old) Group 9: Beans in my ears-Serendipity Singers Since I've heard neither song, I voted based on the singers. The Serindipities get my vote because I enjoyed hearing their music (On a fairly regular basis) when I was a little girl. Plus they make a brief appearance on my newest *Hullabaloo* DVD (Introducing The Bobby Fuller Four singing "I Fought The Law", as well as Marvin Gaye singing "Ain't That Peculiar" ;D) Group 10: They're coming to take me away, ha-ha!-Napoleon XIV Group 11: Gitarzan-Ray Stevens Group 12: Convention '72-Delegates Group 13: Mr. Jaws-thingyie Goodman Group 14: King Tut-Steve Martin Group 15: Never heard either one Group 16: Bulbous bouffant-Vestibules

Group 1 - It ain't gonna rain no mo - I remember my dad singing this one in the car Group 2 - Der fuhrer's face - another one I remember from my dad (my parents were old enough to remember when most of these were released - dad would have been 85 this year and mom will be 82) Group 3 - Woody Woodpecker - again my parents introduced me to this one Group 4 - St. George and the dragonet Group 5 - Purple people eater - this one made my younger brother and I laugh hysterically when we heard it on the way to the cottage! Group 6 - Battle of Kookamonga - when I was a kid, just the word Kookamonga was enough to provoke hysterical laughter for hours Group 7 - Hot rod lincoln - heard this one a few months ago and it made me laugh out loud Group 8 - On top of spaghetti - belted at the top of our lungs on the bus heading for a camping weekend with Girl Guides (ah the memories) Group 9 - The marvelous toy - "I never knew just what it was, and I guess I never will" - I love hearing this song at Christmastime - it is just traditional ! Group 10 - Snoopy vs the Red Baron - another childhood favourite!!! I cheered for Snoopy and booed the Red Baron whenever I heard this one Group 11 - Gitarzan - when I was young, Ray Stevens was a comic genius !!! Group 12 - I must say I don't know either of these songs but I think I will vote for Convention 72 Group 13 - Shaving Cream Group 14 - King Tut - I just picked up the album that has this, as well as "Cat Handcuffs" a few weeks ago. Just love Steve Martin! Group 15 - Bruce (just cause I love the name) Group 16 - Polka Dot Undies - I love Bowser & Blue!!!
