PLEASE ADDRESS THIS QUESTION, EITHER ON HERE OR IN A PM!!! I have been thinking about what my next project on here would be. And then yesterday Lora asked me what I was going to do. I have honestly been thinking about updating my INSANE list, and posting that again. This time, instead of doing 100 a day, I was gonna do them in shorter sections, with my comments, like I did near the end of the list the last time. I don't want to bore everyone if this isn't a good idea, but there is about 12-15 of you that answer this feature everyday, and I'd like to know if you wouldn't mind answering that one again. Please let me know! THANKS!!!
Today is Ketchup day. I realized there are several artists we have missed. I am home today, and I spotted several names in a book I have at home.
Toby Keith-Proud American. As far as the Toby-Dixies controversary, I see a little bit of both sides, but at this point I want them both to SHUTDAFUCUP!! Anyway, as far as country guys go, his stuff isn't awful, but man he is cocky as all hell! Faves-Beer For My Horses (w/Willie Nelson), I Wanna Talk About Me, How Do You Like Me Now?
Tim McGraw-Well, I'm not too big on the country guys, and he is another one who seems to have gotten a bigger head recently. His three duets with his wife basically all sound alike. Had to sit through him dueting with Martina on her PPV special too! Anyway, a few songs I can stand. Faves-Something Like That, Angel Boy, The Cowboy in Me.
Kid Rock-Ok, I don't like rap. And white guys doing rap is usually a joke (Vanilla Ice, Snow). But I took to Kid on his last album. In my defense, the album has a lot more hard rock and country/southern rock to it than rap. And when he raps, it isn't him repeating the same line over and over and over again. And yes, the teenager in me thinks his lyrics are funny. Anyone who finds him offensive, stay away from earlier albums-I read some lyrics-YOW! Could make Andrew Dice Clay blush! Anyway, seems to be drifting more towards country now, and he keeps those lyrics clean. Faves-Lonely Road of Faith (very clean song), Cocky, Lay it On Me, Forever, You Never Met a Motherf@cker Quite Like Me.
Sex Pistols-Suggestion from Kathy. All I really know is Anarchy in the UK. I guess they were a total blast against corporate rock of the 70s. I'm not big on English punk, so I won't be investigating anytime soon. Faves-none.
Smiths-Surprised I didn't get this suggested from Railyn (I think she likes them). Depression rock! LOL! Morrissey has an unique voice, I will say that. You always know it's him. Absolutely love How Soon is Now? The others are just ok to me. Faves-How Soon is Now?, Ask, Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want.
Spin Doctors-Can you say Flash in the Pan? To me, another in a long list of "Next Big Things", sandwhiched somewhere between Fine Young Canibals and Hootie. Actually, I'll take the Spins over those two anyday. Their 3 hits were good, if not all that different-they ended up all right next to each other on my INSANE list. Faves-Little Miss Can't Be Wrong, Two Princes, Pocket Full of Kryptonite.
And you?

Well, you already know my answer to your question, so I don't think I need to post that.
Ketchup Day--good idea.
Toby Keith - I hear a lot of crap about him and the Dixie Chicks, but I still like them both. Obviously, the cocky thing doesn't bother me--check my Babs comments yesterday. And when I come to my music, I can get pretty cocky too. Anyway, all of that is beside the point. I think Toby Keith is cool. He's big, loud, and in charge. His voice is powerful and commanding, and he just looks like a force to be reckoned with. I mean, come on. He could kick all of our @sses and we know it. Faves - Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American), How Do You Like Me Now?, I Wanna Talk About Me, Who's That Man?, Getcha Some, I Wish I Didn't Know Now, You Ain't Much Fun, Dream Walkin', Shoulda Been a Cowboy, A Little Less Talk, Beer for My Horses (w/ Willie Nelson, although I'm kind of tired of it by now).
Tim McGraw - That's funny. His duets with Faith are some of my favorite songs by him. When he first came out, I had a huge crush on him, but that's been a long time gone. Faves - Let's Make Love (w/ Faith), It's Your Love (w/ Faith), Refried Dreams, Don't Take the Girl, The Cowboy in Me, Real Good Man, I Like It, I Love It...I'm drawing a blank now.
Kid Rock - When he came out with Bawitdaba (or however the hell you spell that), he got on my ever-loving nerves. Haha. You should hear Bette's version of the song from her CBS show. It was cute. Anyway, I can tolerate him now, although I think he desperately needs to bathe. Faves - Picture (w/ Sheryl Crow), Only God Knows Why, Cowboy.
Sex Pistols - They're okay. I don't really see what the big deal is. But, then again, I've never liked much punk in general.
Smiths - Not very familiar with them.
Spin Doctors - Unlike you, I'd rather listen to Hootie. Fave - Little Miss Can't Be Wrong.

Hey Adam - Go For it, I can't wait! Toby Keith - I admit he is cocky. I'm really not that familiar with a lot of his songs - they've somehow slipped by me LOL. So I can't really comment I do like his duet with Willie though. Faves - Beer For My Horses Tim McGraw - I don't listen to him all that often but a few songs are pretty good. Faves - Indian Outlaw , Real Good Man and Not a Moment Too Soon Kid Rock - Even though I've seen a few video's (including the duet with Sheryl Crow) . I just never got into his music. Faves - none Sex Pistols - I remember reading quite a bit about them in Rock Scene magazine in the late 70's . and I really didn't know what to think at first LOL With only releasing one album I have to admit they sure made an impact. A couple of songs are OK Faves - Anarchy in The U.K. and Pretty Vacant Smiths - I never got into them - I apologize to all the Smith Fan's here at The Click. Faves - none Spin Doctors - They sure disappeared quickly didn't they? Wow! Remember seeing them on SNL .Catchy Pop / Rock though. Faves: You Let Your Heart Go To Fast , Little Miss Can't Be Wrong , Two Princes and Jimmy Olsen's Blues

I vote "Yes" for a revised insane list. Toby Keith : No clue really. I know he sings country and something about wild horses or something like that. Tim McGraw : Ran into him in a bar down here once. He had women falling all over themselves to talk to him. Don't really know his music. His wife (Faith Hill) is hotter than Hades! Kid Rock : Started out as a white-boy rapper like Eminem back in the days when people actually wanted to be like Vanilla Ice. Struggled for years before developing his trailer park image and taking a midget on tour with him. Odd. Not the most hygenic looking fellow in the world. I want to mail him some soap and shampoo. Actually has a decent voice when he tries. Fun party rap/rock. He can do country very well too. Favorites = Cowboy, Bawitaba, Picture (w/ Sheryl Crow), My Name Is..., Sex Pistols : Anarchic nihilism at it's finest. Sid Vicious was one angry dude. Granted much of their music is deliberately distorted and the singing is intentionally horrible but thats how they wanted to present themselves. I think they did a good job. Weren't the first punk rockers...just the first SIGNIFICANT ones. Favorites = God Save the Queen, Anarchy in the UK The Smiths : Somebody PLEASE cheer Morissey up. Give him a hug, he really seems to need one. Favorites = Girlfriend in a Coma Spin Doctors : These guys are now the butt of jokes. Too bad, thought they'd stick around a while. Lots of fun when they came bursting onto the scene in 1993 with Little Miss Can't Do Wrong. It was a very fresh sound and a welcome break from the despair and angst of grunge. Plus the song reminded me of a certain girl in our social group, lol. I liked this group. Didn't quite understand the lead singers preference for wearing black and white cow patterned clothing though. Favorites = Little Miss Can't Do Wrong, Two Princes

How about "What is your opinion of these songs?" and give a list of maybe 6 or 7 songs? Just an idea, but not much different from the Insane list..
I'm going to skip the first 2.
Kid Rock is OK, I like the fact that he respects all the legends and acknowledges people like Johnny Cash and Hank jr.
Sex Pistols-Came and went, and left behind a trail of carnage! I love watching their documentary, "The Filth and The Fury". That said, I like Public Image Ltd. better..
Smiths-NOW were talking! I would have requested them, but I figured nobody here really knows them. I'm probably the biggest Smiths fan here at the Click, but I'm also the 80's DJ.. By some strange coincedence, I happen to be wearing my 10 year old Smiths T-Shirt today, which I haven't worn in AGES!! "The Queen Is Dead" is among my favorite albums of all time, and like I told Railyn, they are one of the few groups I can put on almost any album and love EVERY song. OK, Moz is depressed, but he also has a lot of humor in his lyrics as well. EASILY my fave today, and among my faves of all time!!!
Spin Doctors-I kind of forgot them myself. I have the Kryptonite CD, and don't listen to it often, but they had a cool sound. Too bad they didn't stick around..
BTW-I'll be away most of next week on vacation, so I'll have plenty of "Ketchup" to do when I get back! LOL..

Hey Adam. I wouldn't mind seeing your Insane List. I don't think I caught all of it over on YL anyway, and what we did see got lost with YL's demise. I've been thinking of starting to post my Top 250 one of these days, but probably not for a while anyway. (Too many other "projects") Oh, and I just got a PM from Shane, who said he would love to see your Insane List, and hopes that Stacey Q will be well represented. --And I got another PM from Arnie, who said that Hey Jude better be #1 or else. ;D ;D Toby Keith- Don't know him Tim McGraw- I know he's a big country star, but I'm not familiar with his music. Kid Rock-Heard of him, don't know his music. (Didn't even know he was white!) Sex Pistols- Heard of them. Don't know their music. Don't wanna know their music. Don't like punk in general. Smiths- Heard of them, don't know their music. (I'm on a roll) Spin Doctors- D@mn! I was so close to a clean sweep. I heard of these guys, and know their two hits. Little Miss Can't Be Wrong and Two Princes. They're both not bad. I have them both on a compilation I made from my son's cds.

By all means, go for it! I only got to see the last 700 songs or so on YL, but that was one of the features I enjoyed the most, and one of the main reasons I signed up there last October.
Toby Keith - I've heard a few of his songs, but the only one that really stands out for me is 'Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue'. I agree, that squabble with the Dixies needs to end.
Tim McGraw - I've never been too fond of him, although there are a few songs of his that I don't mind listening to. Favorite: Let's Make Love.
Kid Rock - I can't say I'm familiar with any of his music.
Sex Pistols - They definitely had a lot of influence, but I never got into them. The Clash is more my style. ;D
Smiths - This is a group I need to investigate further. 'How Soon is Now' has a great sound, but I'm not familiar with much of their material beyond that.
Spin Doctors - As with the Smiths, a group I need to check out more closely sometime. 'Little Miss Can't Be Wrong' has some excellent guitar work in it!

Wasn't thinking of too much of these 6 artists, save the last one. BTW, do an updated INSANE list!!! Toby Keith--an older co-worker of mine liked his music. Just couldn't get into it too much; surprisingly, never heard of "Beer for my horses". Can't say I have any strong faves. Tim McGraw--not bad, as far as modern country singers go. His earliest stuff was his best, IMO. Make "Please remember me" STOP!!! Still, gimme Billy Ray anyday. SHHHH! Faves: Indian outlaw I like it, I love it It's your love (w/Faith Hill) Don't take the girl Kid Rock--Not the worst, but I've heard "Picture" is overplayed. I kinda tolerated him back around 1999 and 2000. Little known fact: His first album was way back in 1993! Still, give me EMINEM's "My name is" (none of HIS other stuff, though!) anyday! No strong faves, can tolerate "Only God knows why". Sex Pistols--Be afraid. Be VERY afraid. Way too radical for their time. I can tolearate "God save the Queen", "Pretty vacant" and "Anarchy in the U.K.". Smiths--Maybe not too surprisingly, I know Morrissey's solo stuff MUCH more than the Smiths' tunes. Amazingly, did not have their records at college. So as a consolation, I will list the 3 Smtihs songs I've heard, plus my fave solo tunes. How soon is now Panic Please let me get what I want Morrissey solo: The more you ignore me... (easily) We hate it when our friends become successful November spawned a monster Tomorrow Ouija board, ouija board Suedehead Our Frank Last of the famous international playboys Piccadilly Palare Billy Budd Sing your life Spin Doctors--YES! I was seriously thinking about asking you to put them in, but I forgot. "Kryptonite" should have a place in my top 500 albums--coming next year on the Click, I hope! My big 3 REAL rock groups of the mid 90's were the Gin Blossoms, Hootie & the Blowfish & these dudes. The Blossoms and the Doctors have already broken up, and Hootie's album from earlier this year bombed. How sad. One of the main reasons why music in the 90's was still good. But up till around 1998, "2 princes" was WAAAAAAAAAAAY overplayed!!! But now that I've heard it practically zilch times in the last 5 years, it would actually be GOOD to hear again sometime! I think the lead singer, Christopher Barron, has had vocal trouble in the last few years--stay strong. And the biggest slap in the face? A 1996 release that failed to chart. Faves: (A good list here!) Little miss can't be wrong You let your heart go too fast Cleopatra's cat Jimmy Olsen's blues (AKA Pocket full of kryptonite) She used to be mine (from their 1996 flop) How could you want him Two princes What time is it Big fat funky booty Shinbone alley Off my line More than meets the ear More than she knows Mary Jane Refrigerator car Indifference Forty or fifty Biscuit head "GO S-U!!!" ;D ;D next week... (Cute pun, smittykins will know what I mean!

So, Adam, are you saying that we need to get out of the mustard, and KETCHUP? Heehee. You won't believe this, but I actually thought about your INSANE list earlier today, and wondering if you might want to feature it on the Click. I'd be happy to read and comment on it again. Toby Keith--Used to like him a lot, now I'm just kinda tired of him and his attitude. Having said that, there are a few songs of his that I enjoy: How You Like Me Now, I Wanna Talk About Me, You Ain't Much Fun, Who's That Man, couple more...As far as that "Beer for My Horses" song--PLEASE make it stop. I didn't like it the first 75 times I heard it, and I don't like it now. Ick! Tim McGraw--Don't like his voice. Kinda whiny, especially on "Don't Take The Girl". What an awful song. My favorite by him is "I Like It I Love it". My niece, who was 8 or 9 at the time, absolutely loved this song, and would sing it for the family. She had a little dance she made up to go with it. It was just too cute. So I have fond memories of that song. Kid Rock--He's a guilty pleasure of mine. I listened to "Devil Without a Cause" a whole lot a couple of years ago. Might have to get it out and play it again, just for old time's sake. From what I've seen of him at award shows and such, he's quite a performer. I wish he'd wash his hair, though. ;D Sex Pistols--Don't know much about their music. I did see the movie "Sid and Nancy" and thought it was quite good. Also read the book "And I Don't Want to Live This Life", about Nancy Spungeon's life. And death. Very interesting. And tragic. Never listened to the Pistols' music much. But the group fascinates me nonetheless. Smiths--Always heard about them, but was never interested in listening to their music. Spin Doctors--Used to get them mixed up with the Black Crowes, for some reason. I have since figured out who's who. Pretty good group. Shoulda stayed around longer. Oh well...

I have no problem with Ketchup day, but The Ketchup Song kinda sorta sucks.
And speaking of forgotten, did you forget OMD (Orchestral Maneuvers In The Dark)? I can't remember. If you did, please put them on the list............
Toby Keith - Eh. I find him obnoxious.
Tim McGraw - Mr. Faith Hill. I watched his Biography, and it was kind of interesting about his personal life growing up, but I don't like any of his songs. I don't like the "I Like It I Love It" song, or Don't Take The Girl, and although he can't, I do understand why our Native Americans got a little upset over his Indian Outlaw song. He uses every stereotypical indian reference there is, and he's not Native American himself.
Kid Rock - eh. My husband likes him. The thing I don't care for about him is he tries to make himself out to be this From-The-Hood guy, but he comes from a priveleged rich background.
Sex Pistols - around for a short time, they brought punk forward. No matterwhat you think, they are an important part of music history. Favorites: God Save The Queen, Anarchy In The UK.
Smiths - I didn't request them because I only know 2 of their songs, but I like what I've heard, and will be checking them out more when I have some more $$ on the recomendation of Pete. Favorites: How Soon Is Now, Let Me Get What I Want
Spin Doctors - never really cared for them. Thought their stuff all kind of sounded alike.
