I gotta put the Dixies ahead of the Supremes personally! I think you said that backwards from what you meant...

Thanks for putting OMD in today! Anyone who only knows one or two songs is really missing out! I've included links to my 2 favorites (and let the music speak for itself): Forever Live And Die: www.jpc.de/cgi-bin/ram.cgi/029/652/ZLXAEYGOPRWCBOZPRXYWKOBHZXYL.rmand Secret: www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/clipserve/B000002GE4001002/1/103-0396460-1262209They have that lush sound I just love. Other favorites: So In Love, Enola Gay, Dreamin', and If You Leave (actually kind of tired of it). Supremes - Diana had a 'tude, but I do like their music. Favorites: Come See About Me, Stop In The Name Of Love, Baby Love, Aint No Mountain High Enough, You Keep Me Hangin' On, Back In My Arms Again, I Hear A Symphony, You Can't Hurry Love, Where Did Our Love Go Surfaris - Only know Wipe Out Survivor - they're ok - The Search Is Over, I Can't Hold Back, and High On You are the only one's I'm not sick of. Billy Swan - really like I Can Help, but never heard anything else. I'll have to give those a listen sometime!

Sheesh! Not much to say today. OMD--I know If You Leave. Never really cared for that song. Supremes--Diana Ross has an ego? Who knew? ;D Actually, I really do like this group. Don't mind listening to even their overplayed songs. Lotsa childhood memories for me, I guess that's why. Surfaris--I know Wipe Out. I think I know Surfer Joe. That's about it. Survivor--Cheesy or not, I always liked this group, although I don't think I own anything by them. I might have the 45 of Eye of the Tiger hidden away somewhere. Billy Swan--Never liked I Can Help. I always thought the lyrics were kinda dumb. So shoot me. I know nothing else by him. K, lemme get my gun!

OMD - Never really paid much attention to them. Favorites: none Supremes - So many #1s, top 10s, and hits. One of the best ever and the best girl group. To bad Diana had to leave. Favorites: Come See About Me, You Can't Hurry Love, the Happening, Reflections, Someday We'll Be Together, Stoned Love, among others. Surfaris - Wipeout is one of the better instrumentals Survivor - Maybe they should make some more Rocky movies, then Survivor could have some more hits. Eye of the Tiger is one of the better songs (and recognizable) from the early 80s. Good group. Other Favorites: American Heartbeat, Burning Heart. Billy Swan - A one hit wonder, but a good one with I Can Help. LMAO about them making more Rocky movies!! ;D

I'm Baaaaaaaaack! I have a lot of catching up to do but at least I didn't miss the start of the "T" section. OMD - Thank you Railyn! I knew there was an artist in the "O"s that we'd missed. I loved this band when I was in junior high and early high school. A few of their songs are quintessentially "80s" to me and are very reminiscent of the times. Faves: If You Leave, Souvenir, So In Love, Joan of Arc, (forever) Live and Die Supremes - Despite Diana Ross' enormous ego, this is hands down the greatest "girl group" from the era. I tend to like their deeper songs. Faves: Reflections, My World Is Empty WIthout You, Love Child, Someday We'll Be Together, I Hear A Symphony, Come See About Me Surfaris - I know "Wipe Out" of course but that surf-rock music has never appealed to me. Survivor - Eye of The Tiger is a total joke nowadays, but I remember when it was so huge you couldn't get away with it. It's fun to see people sing it at karaoke bars. I used to like that song Can't Hold Back but I haven't heard it in years Billy Swan - The name is familiar and I recognize the title "I Can Help" but I can't remember how it goes. That's funny you noticed an "O" was missing but didn't remember what it was! I Can Help-"If you got a problem, don't know what it is......"

You said, "I gotta put the Dixies ahead of the Supremes personally!", which means you rank them as being better than the Supremes, or is that what you meant to say?

Yes, better than the Supremes! Oh okay! I thought you were disagreeing with me because I placed the Chicks over the Supremes! Sorry, I just misunderstood your post. I get confused easily...

OMD-I preffer the early stuff to the hits. As far as I'm concerned, "If You Leave" can't hold a CANDLE to "Enola Gay"or "Electricity". I've only heard "Forever Live And Die" once and didn't care for it. "Dreaming" was decent, but I say EARLY OMD all the way!
Supremes-Way too overplayed on oldies stations!! Their later hits were much better (1967-1969) I especially like post-Diana Supremes. I have the old double CD anthology, I feel no need to upgrade...
Surfaris-Know "Wipeout" and nothing else, but I probably should investigate more..
Survivor-To me, the bottom of the arena rock barrel...
Billy Swan-Again, an artist I've never felt a need to investigate beyond his one hit..
