The band took their name from the 1958 Chuck Berry tune. This great song peaked on the charts at # 27 in May 1972.It was used in an episode of The Wonder Years.
Band Members Jay ("Thunder Island") Ferguson and Mark Andes were members of the 60's band Spirit and Mark later joined Firefall and Heart. I just love the slide guitar part! I was playing the song in my vehicle yesterday. Crank it up! . It can be found on Volume 8 of Rhino's Super Hits of The 70's series.

LOVE this tune!! Of course I only know it from recent years from play on the classic rock stations. Love the "Do do do do do do do do do, RUN, run, RUN, run, RUN!!" LOL!
Someday I am going to make a HUGE map showing how all these bands tie in together! It will even include Poco, Burittos and Buffalo Springfield! LOL!

AWESOME! Apparently, Leif Garrett of all people used to do this song live, trying to get more of a hard rock "edge". Nothing like the original, though!

Sure do, Ken - love it! I have it on an 8-track called Superstars of the 70's. For years, this song didn't get much airplay on the classic rock stations where I live, but hopefully that's changing! A 70's hard rock classic!
