I agree with you said about Huey - 'Heart and Soul' is my favorite from Sports as well. Is his most recent greatest hits collection called Vital Idols? I happened upon that at a yard sale about a month ago and didn't get it, and I've been kicking myself ever since. I've never seen the video to 'When Doves Cry', but it sounds really weird! No, Vital Idol was released back in the 80's. It doesn't have "Eyes Without A Face" so don't kick yourself too hard. This is the one I'm speaking of. It's excellent: www.directpopmusic.com/Billy_Idol_Billy_Idol__Greatest_Hits_B000059QYB.html

You're right - it is a much better collection than Vital Idol! I didn't look at it that closely, and didn't realize it was so incomplete. 'Eyes Without a Face' is definitely a must!

Best tunes here are Eyes Without a Face (his best) and When Doves Cry (in his top 5). The rest I am sort of sick of, but I liked em at the time. Self Control is good. I've always thought that 'When Doves Cry' is one of Prince's best songs - it's very catchy! And 'Eyes Without a Face' is great also.

What a great list of songs! We sang Time After Time in college choir, had a beautiful arrangement. I think that Eyes Without a Face is Billy Idol's best song,so very lovely. I remember Self Control has always been my favorite song Laura Brannigan song. We had a killer arrangement of Heart of Rock and Roll for stage band in college, used it as a great starter piece. I imagine that 'Time After Time' did sound great performed by your choir. It has a really nice melody. I remember it was really cool to perform popular songs of the day in band!

Hi Dawn - What I didn't like about 1985 yesterday does not apply today. This is a great chart.
Legs, Heart of Rock & Roll, Eyes Without a Face, The Reflex, Jump, Dancing in the Dark, & When Doves Cry are all classics.
Time After Time was a great followup to Girls just Want to Have Fun.
Almost Paradise was a great song, but man was it overplayed.
Although not my favorite by Laura Brannigan, Self Control was a good song.

Musically, 1984 was one of the best years of the 80's, IMO.
