What a list !! 10. Always loved 10cc - the harmonies in the song are just awesome. It took me a while to realize the girl was saying Big Boys Don't Cry I had NO idea what she was saying in that part of the song LOL 9.The first 45 I ever bought of Linda's - I must have played it about 25 times in a row once I got it home 8.Have this on Ktel 's Music Express. I listened to it quite a bit remember singing along with Frankie. 7.Bought this and Listen To What The Man Said at the same time . I still have Sir Paul but the Eagles single got severely warped. 6.Remember hearing this on the radio - such a great voice 5.Oh Yeah! - I have this on 45 , CD and the first Pilot album on vinyl. Remember riding in my next -door neighbor's car during that summer and this playing on the radio. My middle brother had the 45. I didn't find my copy until High School I was in Grade 12 at the time. Only one of my friends remembered the song. Everybody else didn't have a clue ;D but they liked the fact that Alan Parsons produced it. Takes me right back everytime I listen to it - I'm playing it as I type this:) 4.Another fave - a friend of mine liked it too at the time. I have it on Music Epress from Ktel as well. 3.Woo Hoo!!! 2.I can't say that I actually ever did the hustle myself but I did like the tune 1.To me ,this is their best!!

I can't say I know Please Mr. Please. I've never heard the full song....just a snippet of it in a Dickie Goodman tune. I believe it was Mr. Jaws. As for the other 9, all great!! The only tune that brings back a specific memory is Magic. It reminds me of heading down to Seaside Heights on the Jersey shore! Those were the days!!

Hey Dawn! Some real good ones here. I'm Not In Love - Real good song. Love the line about "your picture" hiding an ugly stain. Ken mentioned the "Big Girls Don't Cry" in the background. I always knew WHAT they were saying, but to this day, I don't knowWHY they were saying it. When Will I Be Loved - I really don't care for Linda's covers. This one is much better than most. It's still not nearly as good as the Everly Brothers' original. Swearin' To God - Second song of Frankie's '75 comeback. Pretty good song even if it did have a little too much "lounge singer" in it. One Of These Nights - Oh Yeah!!! The Eagles were on a run, cranking out one great tune after another. Great guitar work in this one also. Please Mr. Please- Very nice country sound from ONJ. Magic - WOO-HOO!!!!! All time top 25!! This song is ---- Magic!! Wildfire - Beautiful song. -- But what's it about?? This would be a good one for Railyn's lyrics post. Listen To What The Man Said - Talk about crankin' out one great tune after another. Paul was on a roll here also. The Hustle - Like I've said, I'm really not into dance music, but this song is so darn catchy, that I often find myself humming or whistling it. Love Will Keep Us Together - I've seen this listed as the #1 song of the year. They sure played it a lot. I agree with Ken; it's their best.

Hi Dawn - Good chart for 1975.
I'm Not in Love - My favorite song by 10cc
When Will I Be Loved - 1975 was a good year for Linda. This was the 2nd of 3 top 10s for her in 1975. Well done cover version
Swearin' To God - A comeback year for Frankie. Two top 10s and another that just missed. This was the best of those three songs.
One of These Nights- A future #1 that I never get tired of listening to.
Please Mr. Please - By the time this song came out, I was a little tired of Oliva. Not one of my favorites.
Magic - Great song by Pilot, their only top 40.
Wildfire - Never liked this song.
Listen to What the Man Said - Another classic by Sir Paul. One of my favorites
The Hustle - One great instrumental that's still fun do listen to.
Love Will Keep Us Together - One of two songs by Captain & Tennille I like.

Music Express - what a terrific album! So many of my favorites are on that one! How is the rest of that Pilot album? 'Magic' is the only song of theirs I've ever heard, but if that's any indication of their work, I think I'd really like their other songs! I didn't hear 'Magic' at all from about 1976 until 1987, when my area got its first oldies station. I was SO happy to hear it again, and found the 45 in a used record shop shortly after that. Great memories!

Great record, BTW! 'Please Mr. Please' is excellent, with a nice mellow country-pop feel. Here's a link to a clip of it: www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005NWMI/qid=1058182283/sr=8-4/ref=sr_8_4/102-6590349-0235349?v=glance&s=music&n=507846. 'Magic' brings back so many memories for me also! I agree, those were great times!

I agree with you about the line about the picture in 'I'm Not in Love' - it's great, and really helps set the mood of the song. The vocals are absolutely wonderful. 'One of These Nights' is my favorite Eagles song. You're right, the guitar work in it is superb! I'm also a little puzzled about the meaning of the lyrics to 'Wildfire'. The song seems to be about death, but doesn't really explain why. This would be an excellent one for Railyn's post!

I agree with you about 'Swearin' to God' being the best of Frankie's 3 comeback hits. I've really liked it ever since it was current. 'Listen to What the Man Said' is one of my favorites as well. I love the saxophone playing on it! I agree, 'The Hustle' is still great fun! Love it!

Ok - regressing again. Not quite 2.
10) Love this song. Reminds me of my ex, though... 9) Not a big fan of hers. 8) I'm sure I've heard it, but I can't place it.. 7) Not a big Eagles fan, but this one isn't too badl 6) Like this one, and Olivia 5) Great fun one-hit wonder song 4) Eh. A bit too folky for me. 3) Another good Wings song 2) Used to able to do this dance, on land and roller skates but I've forgotten. 1) A good fun song, but greatly overplayed.

As H2 pointed out, it does have a bit of a lounge quality, but it's always been a favorite of mine. As H2 suggested, 'Wildfire' would be a great choice for your lyrics feature! I'm interested in hearing how you all would interpret the lyrics. That song has perplexed me for years.

Hi Dawn:) The other songs are very good their in that same pop / rock style - I have three of their albums all together. Three albums - that's great! I didn't realize they had recorded much beyond 'Magic' and the album it was from. I'd love to find a copy of those albums someday!

Music hit SUCH a peak in 75! MAN, what great stuff here!!
Love the denial in I'm Not in Love. One of the best tunes that year (and that's saying something!).
One of These Nights and Listen to What the Man Said-some of the best from the Eagles and Paul!
Magic and Wildfire, two GREAT one hit wonders! (Although Murphy had other top 40 hits, he was a OHW in my eyes!)
The rest are all good in their own right!

These songs are outstanding - if only music could be half this good nowadays! 'I'm Not in Love' is such a classic, with wonderful lyrics. I've always considered Michael Murphey a one-hit wonder also, at least as far as a pop artist. His other top 40 hits have much more of a country sound than 'Wildfire' does.
