Many of us here were in band in high school and have great memories of that time - I know I do! I was just curious were there any cassettes made and did you buy one? I did - I even helped out on the "recording sessions". It was primitive, two mics set up on each side of the room and plugged into a stereo cassette player and crank up the imput levels. LOL I still listen to mine from time to time and drum along with the stuff just to see how much I remember. On my tape Grade 8 - 12 are featured I'm on both the concert and Jr.Stage Band material. Aside from the odd bad note we were pretty darn good.

Great topic, Ken! Yes, I have a cassette of a Christmas concert that my junior high school band performed in along with the high school concert band and choirs. It's dated December 14, 1980, when I was in 7th grade. All the groups did pretty well, but there's one part in between songs where it sounds like someone sneezed really loud! LOL!

Back in the day, camcorders were very expensive. There was one kids parents in 9th grade who taped our field show every week so we could watch and improve, but when we were chosen to do a Disney World parade, my parents went out and bought one.
Consequently, I have every parade, field show, competition, concert and special event after that, right up to my last performance in college marching band (I quit because I couldn't deal with the director).
