10) As Kenny songs go, it's not too bad.

5) I have this 45, and I loved the very short lived TV show - I had a crush on David Naughton and he was comical in the show. TV Land shows in every now and then. My 2 clear memories are that Eileen Travolta was in it, and in one episode he's making ice cream cones and the handle breaks off the machine and ice cream is everywhere. Now it's stuck in my head "I'm solid gold, I've got the goods, They stand when I walk through the neighborhood, I'M MAKIN' IT, I'VE GOT THE CHANCE I'M TAKIN' IT, NO MORE, NO MORE FAKIN' IT, THIS TIME IN LIFE I'M MAKIN' IT, WHOA WOAH WOAH WOAH"......GRRRRRR! Now I gotta dig out the 45!
4) I like this one, but I love Nile Rogers and Chic. Although, I liked the later "Rappers Delight" even better. "Ho-tel, Mo-tel, what'cha gonna do today? Saaayyyy Whhaaattt?" - oh well, at least Makin' It is fading....
3) I see that Donna Summer is on here twice, and they are my 2 least favorite songs.
2) Again, disco was beginning to suck....
1) I remember my comment last time regarding the little picture of the reactor at TMI on the jukebox thingie - I was not amused.

'Makin' It' - I didn't know TV Land aired that show - it's been ages since I've seen it! I agree, David Naughton was pretty nice to look at. He was great in My Sister Sam too!

I remember that about the reactor - what a thoughtless and insensitive thing to have done. Three Mile Island was a very serious matter.

She Believes in Me - A way overplayed song that added some country flavor to a disco dominated chart.

Gold - Good song

Shine A Little Love - Not my favorite by ELO, but it did add something other than disco to the chart.


I Want You to Want Me - Just one great classic rock song from Cheap Trick. One of the best ever live recordings to hit the charts.

Boogie Wonderland - EWF was one of the very few funk/disco/soul groups from this era I really liked. Passed up a chance to see them live in London. Regret it still today.

Makin' It - Didn't like this song at all.

Chic - Like EWF, another one of the few funk/disco/soul groups from this era I liked. Had a little rock beat in their music.

Hot Stuff & Bad Girls - Donna Summers had (has) a great voice, but I really got tired of her songs after hearing them once a hour on the radio.

Ring my Bell - A very forgettable disco song.

Hi dodger! I really enjoy most disco music, but agree that groups like Cheap Trick and ELO give the chart some needed balance.

'I Want You To Want Me' is a really good track, very energetic! Their live shows must have been awesome!

Oh, that would have been great to have seen EWF in concert! Their sound was so unique - a great blend of styles.

As DJ Dave pointed out, the top 6 are disco. Only my feelings for disco are not the same as his (or Sat's or probably most of MC).

Of the 6, I'll admit I kinda like Hot Stuff. (At least I won't turn the radio/cd off.
No thanks on the other 5.

Shine a Little Love is not at the top of my ELO list, but its good also.

Gold. Love it!! My fave on this chart by far!! BTW this is the same John Stewart who had replaced Dave Guard in the Kingston Trio in the early '60s.

I'm with you on 'Gold' being the best track here - I liked it a lot when it was current, and have grown to love it even more in recent years. John has a really good voice.
